As stated by TurboTaxEllen:
If you are expecting a refund you can check the IRS website Where's My Refund 4 weeks after mailing your return.
If you are not expecting a refund tracking your return can be a little more complicated. You can use the IRS's new online transcript request option to tell when your return has been processed. Once the return shows up in the transcript request the IRS has received and processed your return. Before that time it will show that you have not filed for the year. You can also judge by when the IRS processes your payment (if a tax payment was sent/due)

After 2-3 weeks have passed you may also call the IRS customer service line at 1 800 829 1040 to inquire regarding the status of your return.
I am trying to retrieve my 2018 tax forms that were already filed but I didn't receive any paperwork from the person that prepared them.
I have done all of the suggestions but still I don't get the right answer
@June1365 Did a paid preparer do your 2018 return? if so you should have been given a copy. Paid preparers are not supposed to use TurboTax.
You can get a free transcript of the return from the IRS: (or for $50 an actual copy)

If you cannot get the 2018 tax returns from the person who completed then for you, then your only option is to get the federal tax returns from the IRS.
Go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Or for a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
no............was it ever sent?
I wanted to know when I'll receive my check in mail

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I'm trying to check the status of my federal income taxes
I sent in the 1095 A form
@Lindellwilson You can check the status of your return by using the "Where's My Refund?" tool on the IRS website. If it's been more than 21 days since you've filed your return, you can call the IRS to get more information. Here's how to contact them: IRS Contact Information
I mailed my return aout two weeks ago. How can I find the status of my return.
How to check the status of a mailed paper return you already sent?
The IRS states that you can start tracking 4 weeks after mailing your paper return via the Where's My Refund site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds.
Mailed my tax return per your instructions approximately March 15. 2020.
I would like an assurance that it has been received, please.
