I filed with turbotx on-line in 2020 -the computer has crashed and cannot be recovered. How can I get that return
@rtomlin Did you use the Online version? It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online.
You can also request a transcript from the IRS

My computer crashed in 2021. I lost all my 2020 tax filing documents. Is that data kept by Turbotax?

If you used desktop software downloaded/installed from a CD to your own computer, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive. They are not stored online. If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.

I used turbotax home and business software to file my 2020 taxes
Help with accessing your past years returns has been provided by clicking here.
I used 2021 Turbotax.
What TurboTax program did you use to create the tax return? Turbotax - Home & Business Online web based editions? Yes. Desktop software installed on your personal computer? Yes
What tax year? 2021
@nmlnml FYI - The Home & Business version is NOT the Online web version. That one is called the Self Employed version. You are probably confusing the Online version with downloading the Desktop program. Online is a completely separate product that you log into your account each time and do it all online. Your return is only saved online.
The Desktop program you install on your computer from either the CD or you Download the program. Your return is only saved on your computer.
What is your question about the Home & Business version?

2020 need
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
ok
please supply my 2020 records.

Only you can access your tax returns, not TurboTax. Use the procedure provided in your prior post.
