Did you efile or mail your return? When? Was it Accepted? Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button? You can check your efile status here https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
The IRS is taking a long time this year. Plan on 6 months or more. All you can do is be patient and keep waiting.
The IRS is still processing 2020 returns. As of June 21, 2022 the IRS is almost done processing 2020 returns, filed in 2021. See,

I filled my taxes out on TurboTax app first got help from family but I still haven’t received my paper check yet
@Gnikofshado - the IRS is woefully backlogged. here is what the IRS website states:
How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We have processed all error free returns received prior to January 2022 and continue to work the returns that need to be manually reviewed due to errors. We are continuing to reroute tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened and processed in the order received. As the return is processed, whether it was filed electronically or on paper, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit and the Child Tax Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues could take 90 to 120 days depending on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.
What you should do: In most instances, no further action is needed but you may check Where’s My Refund? or you can view your account. If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s My Refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. If you filed before January 2022 and Where’s My Refund? does not have any information, your return has been opened but work on it has not begun. We’re working hard to get through the carryover inventory. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
It's been 17 weeks since I filed my amended return thru turbotax. The where's my refund website and app are useless. All the numbers you call are the automated system. They tell you nothing. I can't get to a live human being and I want to know why I don't have my refund yet. I've got turbotax charging me late fees for tax prep. Help. Someone tell me where I can find some help.

Amended tax returns are taking the IRS anywhere from 6 month to a year to process.

Status of Processing Form 1040-X, Amended Individual Tax Return: As of July 30, 2022, we had 2 million unprocessed Forms 1040-X. We are processing these returns in the order received and are working hard to get through the inventory. The current timeframe can be more than 20 weeks instead of up to 16. Please don't file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your amended return. Taxpayers should continue to check Where's My Amended Return? for the most up to date processing status available.
@JustinYoo The IRS is woefully backlogged. Assume that amendments will take 9-12 months (no kidding) to process. Note the IRS website (see @DoninGA 's message above) states "more than 20 weeks" and that statements doesn't include an upper limit. From others who have posted (including my own experience) 9-12 months appears what it is running,
I have not yet to receive refund
@Sherita13 - scroll up and look at the post I left about an hour back - the iRS is woefully backlogged....
When will I be receiving my tax refund? I filed on June 6/2022

Millions of taxpayers are waiting for their 2021 tax returns to be processed for a tax refund. It is taking the IRS 6 - 9 months and longer to process many 2021 tax returns.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

As of August 26, 2022, we had 8.2 million unprocessed individual returns received in calendar year 2022. These include tax year 2021 returns and late filed tax year 2020 and prior returns. Of these, 1.7 million returns require error correction or other special handling, and 6.5 million are paper returns waiting to be reviewed and processed. This work does not typically require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund and in some cases this work could take more than 120 days. If a correction is made to any Recovery Rebate Credit, Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.

They told me that they sent it May 25 to my direct deposit. and I never received it.
It has been 8months and I haven't gotten my federal refund. I received my state. I tried this to talk to someone and when I got through all the prompts it says try again later due to high call volume. If there was a math error or something would be nice to know why its taking so long to process my basic 1040.
@Darathomaslmt TurboTax gets no information after you file your tax return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
Can someone help. I haven’t received my refund
@Medianoche21 Did you read the reply that is directly above your own post in this thread? No one at TurboTax can speed up the IRS for you or find out about your refund. You have to check the IRS refund site yourself.
