I filed mine online with direct deposit in mid March and still have received nothing, I beginning to think I'm not getting it
The IRS is seriously behind in processing 2020 tax returns. This is due to many factors, such as the pandemic, completing processing of millions of 2019 tax returns, stimulus payments, unemployment compensation exclusion tax refunds., changes in the tax code by Congress in the middle of the 2020 tax season and the like.
Millions of taxpayers have not yet received there federal tax refunds.

As of June 5, 2021, we had 18.2 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include tax year 2020 returns such as those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
Just a suggestion for everyone reading this anytime that you are forced to mail in your return as opposed to e-filing (and I used the word forced because I can't imagine anyone would choose to mail it in on purpose LOL) you should always take you're filing to your local post office, have them mail it for you and include a tracking number with a signature request. They should come as a combo but this will provide you with two things. First and foremost whoever accepts your return at the internal revenue service will have to sign for it so you will have irrefutable proof that the IRS actually did receive your return and they cannot say it got lost before it arrived to them. The second thing you will have is a tracking number to track it and you will know exactly when it was received. This will provide you with peace of mind and also give you a timeline so that after 21 days, (because you're going to know the exact day that they received it) you will be able to call them with confidence and they in return will have to answer your questions! Good luck
I went through that menu thing and talked to an agent 3 different times. The last time I talked to them (May) they said my refund would be sent within a week. That is the last time I talked with them and I still don't have it. Now I cannot get through as it is always busy no matter what time I call.
I filed my return, the IRS has paid it to some group called TGP out of Santa Barbara. How do I get the refund to my account and why is TGP in the mix?

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

You asked to have the Turbo Tax fees deducted from your refund. That is the bank it goes though to take out the fees.
You can contract SBTPG

I mailed my taxes for the first time this year too and still haven't received mine and it isn't showing up on the irs website. My son finally received his yesterday so hopefully everyone that mailed in will receive theirs soon cause I know we all can sure use the money right about now..
I mailed my Federal Return on May 15, 2020 expecting the $4560 amount in 5-6 weeks. Nothing? do I need to call the IRS? What info will they require?
Thank You,
John Rogers
@ferrero1946 Are you asking about your 2019 return? That you mailed in 2020? Did you use a mailing service like certified mail so you could know for sure that the IRS received it? Unless you did that, there is not a way to know if they got it. Have you seen anything about your mailed return on the IRS site at any time--such as sometime between the time you mailed it and January of 2021? By the time people began to file 2020 returns, any information about a 2019 return would not be showing any more on the IRS refund site. They only show information for the most recent tax year.
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.
If this is about your state refund then contact your state:
I filed Feb 6th and WHERES MY REFUND still says processing.
I have tried several times to use the prompts given to speak with the IRS but they are not accepting calls.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

It's been since January 30th I filed and I have not yet received my refund
Refunds usually take about 21 days after the IRS has accepted your e-filed return. Although, sometimes it can take longer. The IRS is taking more than 21 days (and up to 90 to 120 days) to issue refunds for tax returns with the Recovery Rebate Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit. Please see What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days? for more information.
I filed back on March 8th. I just checked it today and the irs said it was deposited. I checked my history at my bank and it wasn't deposited. Checked the state. It was the same thing. My routing number and bank numbers are correct. Can someone tell me what is going on?
All you can do is ask the IRS and State to which bank account they sent the refunds. Is the account in your name?
