How do I change routing number on stimulus refund

The bank routing and account number cannot be changed after a tax return has been filed. You can change the bank routing and account number when you file your 2021 federal tax return.
Until you file the 2021 return the old routing number cannot be changed. There are no more stimulus payments being sent so if you missed the third payment you will get it on the 2021 return you file next year if you qualify for it.
Hello,
I just had this happen where i forgot to add one number. Does this information still apply, should I be expecting a check or do I need to wait for them to send out amending forms?

The information still applies. The IRS will send a check if the direct deposit is rejected by the bank.
I filed on TurboTax and they accepted it but the routing number is the same but I didn't put all the account number in it
If the bank info is wrong the bank will reject the deposit. Then the IRS will mail a check to the address on your return. It will delay your refund.

Once a tax return has been filed the bank information cannot be changed.
My refund was supposed to be direct deposited March 2nd and had wrong routing and account numbers so still waiting on refund
If you e-filed:
Banking information for direct deposit is wrong
If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected. If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it. The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS. Then the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to the address you put on your tax return. Expect a delay of at least a couple of weeks to receive your refund.
Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, then the direct deposit will go back to the third party bank instead of to the IRS. Then that bank will issue and mail a check to you. The check will be in a plain envelope and come by first class mail. Make sure you open all of your mail---even if it looks like junk mail.
Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.
You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com
