How can I find out if my taxes were filed last year?

To find out if you filed your tax return last year you can look up your prior year return in TurboTax (if you normally file with us) or you could get a free transcript from the IRS.

If you used the TurboTax Online version, to get a 2017, 2016 or other prior-year return that you filed, follow these steps below.

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account (with the same login information from before). 
2. If you can't remember your login information Go to our account recovery page
3. Select Show next to Your tax returns & documents.
4. Select the year of the return your would like to obtain.
5. Now select Download/print return (PDF) and your return will automatically download. 

If you used TurboTax CD/Download version, your tax information will be stored on your Computer.

No one else can look it up for you.  If you used TurboTax then you are the only one who can look.  And you should remove your name from this post.  Click those three little blue dots on the upper right to edit out your name.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Note:  Every year, before mid-October, print a copy of your current year tax return and save it as a tax file and pdf, too.  That way you will have it when you need it for school, a loan, next year’s tax return, etc. without going through a lot of aggravation (and expense)  to get it.
