Can I edit the forms directly?

I need to add the tax I paid when I filed extension form 4868.

I switched to Forms View but editing forms does not work in this view on Macbook Pro M2.

Editing FORM 1040 WORKSHEET does not work either on Macbook Pro M2.

To enter the amount you paid with an extension (including state extension)  go to

Federal Taxes (or Personal for desktop H&B version)

Deductions and Credits

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Other Income Taxes - Click the Start or Update button

Next page second section Payments with Extension

Either Visit All or Click Start or Update by the extension you paid

Thanks. I did that before but the form 1040 does not include the information and my Federal Tax Due in the return is still as if I did not pay the taxes in April'23.

Entering in Forms mode will work if you put the number in the right field.

Sometimes it is not obvious, or there are related fields that must be cleared.

You will be able to e-File as long as you have no overrides.

I tried to enter the information in many fields. None of them work. It appears to be a defect in TurboTax for Macbook Pro with M2 ARM processor.

I tried to do it on Windows as well. I see the same issue. TurboTax reports that I owe the amount which I already paid for in April'23 and which I already entered using "Payment with 2022 federal extension" option in "Deductions and Credits".

How can I get help with the issue? It is blocking me from filing my taxes.

So your extension payment isn't showing up on 1040 line 31 which comes from schedule 3 line 10?  Maybe you still owe more after paying the extension?

If you used the TurboTax Easy Extension to electronically file the extension request, Form 4868, and make the tax payment with the request, the payment should already entered on your tax return. Provided you used the same user ID for the 2022 online tax return as was used for the Easy Extension. You can check to see if the amount is on your tax return by clicking on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Then click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Then click on Preview my 1040.

The federal extension payment will be shown on Schedule 3 Line 10. The amount from Schedule 3 Part II Line 15 flows to Form 1040 Line 31

To enter, change or delete a payment made with an extension request (Federal, State, Local) -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
On Income Taxes Paid, click on the start or update button

On the next screen select the type of extension payment made and click on the start or update button

Or enter federal extension payment in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to federal extension payment

Thanks. The Schedule 3 line 10 is empty despite of entering the amount in "2022 federal taxes paid with extension" field.

I found a way to fix it. There is a form "Tax Payments". In line 9 2022 extensions one can enter the taxes paid with extension filing. Once it is entered it accounted for by the program.

You hit the magic with this addition to all the other suggestions how to get into the forms field: "you want to change and choose 'override'."  No one else mentioned that critical part (at least not that I noticed).

Thank you!

@Maximillion yes, you can use override but there are two issues 1) you won't be able to e-file (not important since only 2023 can now be e-filed through Turbotax) and 2) you void the accuracy guarantee.
