Yes.  You get the Advance after the IRS accepts it.

That is correct.   You do not get any money for that advance until the IRS accepts your e-file.  They start that on 1-29.

OK folks ... the IRS has started ACCEPTING  some returns in test batches so you may get the advance prior to the 29th however don't count on it as the advance is not guaranteed.  The IRS will start PROCESSING  returns on the 29th  even if you are accepted earlier.

I completed my taxes and submitted for efile on 01/17. It has been showing my date submitted as 01/22. So I will let you guys know if I happen to get my refund advance today.

Ignore any TT dates posted ... the 1/22 date was the estimated start of the IRS processing returns which has been officially posted as 1/29.  Once you file you should only rely on the info you get on the IRS web site here:

Yeah I filed mine about a week ago and got the email on 1/19/2024 stating the IRS accepted my Federal Return. So I went to the official federal refund tracker and it does state it was accepted, just hasn't moved to the approved status yet.

Anything yet? Hoping mine gets magically accepted today so I can get an advance 😅

Uhhh no. It is still showing date submitted as today's date but still says pending.

State was accepted today 1/22/2024.

For some reason turbo tax help center claims the IRS will start accepting e-file returns on the 24th

Originally the IRS announced January 24th, but changed it to January 29th.

So I did the advanced it says accepted but I haven't received anything it got accepted Friday
