Quite recently, there was a TurboTax update announced that e-filing Form 7202 is expected to be available March 11, 2021 as of this writing. All software platforms have had an exceptional number of changes to implement due to new legislation in response to COVID-19. TurboTax guarantees form accuracy 100%.
The IRS only recently has permitted e-filing Form 7202 and the program is being updated as quickly as possible.
Form 7202 would have been generated in response to questions about your employment, particularly if there was qualified sick or family leave. You will need to check the entries for any income being reported in your tax return.
Until the program is updated, if you wish to proceed, you would have to paper file. The IRS takes at least 6-8 weeks to process a paper filed return and 2-3 weeks to process an electronically filed return.
To paper file your return, see these links:
I am greatly looking forward to this update, as my taxes are all done and I just need to file. I assume we can run the "Check For Updates" on our downloaded TurboTax Application in order for this update to be synced?
I spoke with a customer service specialist today, and she did not really give a clear answer on if e-filing support is for sure happening, so I just want to make sure that this is the case and if March 11th is still the planned date for it.
Thank you 🙂
Yes. please continue to check for updates. Tentatively the form should become available within a few weeks. TurboTax has worked hard with the IRS to be able to e-file this form. Since this will require programming adjustments for both the IRS and TurboTax, it will be a few weeks before these changes are made.
If you wish to file this form, you have the following options:
Mail-in your return now and not wait until the form is available to e-file.
E-file your return without the form, and then file an amended return with the form attached to it (amended returns now also can be e-filed for greater convenience).
Wait until the form is available in TurboTax and e-file your entire return at once.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on how to do this.
I am also unable to e-file due to this form. Pls make this option available to efile within TT asap.
This form will be available soon to E-file. Since this will require programming adjustments for both the IRS and TurboTax, it will be a few weeks before these changes are made. If you wish to file this form, you have the following options:

What is this form
Form 7202 Credits for Sick Leave and Family Leave for Certain Self-Employed Individuals - Self-employed individuals use Form 7202 to figure the amount to claim for qualified sick and family leave equivalent credits under the FFCRA on their 2020 tax return.
TurboTax has announced that this form will be able to be efiled. Target date for allowing this is March 11. (from @Bsch4477)
These credits are available to eligible self-employed individuals if they were unable to work or telework or had to care for family members for reasons related to the coronavirus and are refundable. These credits are equivalent to the amount of qualified sick leave wages or qualified family leave wages the self-employed individual would be entitled to receive under the emergency Paid Sick Leave Act or the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act, two separate provisions of the FFCRA, if the individual were an employee of an employer (other than himself or herself).
You attach Form 7202 to your tax return.
FFCRA is the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) and requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.

Just today, I went to file a return for my son and his wife. She qualifies for sick leave on Form 7202. It is not coming up with any errors. And will let me proceed to filing. Is this correct that the form has been updated?
Is it fixed now? I am filing with a form 7202 and I am not getting any errors as I was earlier. I plan on waiting just to be safe until March 11 but thought I would ask for those out there who might be concerned that the form is not fully functional.
Yes, you are now able to e-file Form 7202. TurboTax originally estimated 3/12 as the release date, but it has become available earlier.
When can I e-file my Form 7202?
THANK YOU!!! I was able to successfully e-file just now 🙂
