You will need to print and mail your return but it will be considered on time as long as postmarked by Nov 16.  E-filing is closed for the 2022 tax season.   I am sorry for the inconvenience and was hoping they would find a way to leave efile open for CA residents.

That's right---e-filing is closed for users of TurboTax.   As long as it is mailed and postmarked by the November deadline, you are okay----but you can only file by mail now.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

I already paid for the Turbo Tax Online. Now, I am told that in order to complete my return I need Turbo Tax Desktop. Can Intuit please offer a license exchange for me to switch from Online to Desktop? I feel like this is the least Intuit can do to support its California customers, in what has been a most trying year in the Golden State. Intuit itself is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. It seems like poor customer service for Turbo Tax to not extend the e-filing for Californians to Nov 16, when the Federal Government and State Government of California have done the same. It looks like H&R Block has done this.

TurboTax really dropped the ball this year by failing to provide e-filing through the Nov 16 deadline for residents of California (due to CA state of emergency). Can you recommend any qualified Electronic Return Originators (ERO) who can take our tax return printout or TurboTax 2022 document and complete the e-filing, that Turbo should have done? In this day and age, it is ridiculous that Turbo does not provide e-filing.

TurboTax's entire system is in transition from 2022 to 2023 returns, so e-filing is now closed for all TT users for 2022 returns.  Apparently they cannot isolate just CA for e-filing, so as of October 31, it became necessary for anyone who still needs to file a 2022 return to file by mail.   No, TT cannot recommend a paid preparer who can e-file for you.   You can seek one out yourself if you want to do that.  Otherwise, get your 2022 return printed and ready to mail---it will need to be postmarked by the CA filing deadline.  You did not pay any sort of extra fee for e-filing; the cost of using TurboTax is the same whether you e-file or mail it in an envelope.

Question to the Community: Who can take a Turbo Tax 2022 file or PDF of tax return and e-file for me? What is the cost (if any)? E-filling is MUCH better for individuals to securely file, get the return processed, and get a refund. Turbo has abandoned me when it come to e-filing. So I need help. Thanks!

Sorry we only know about Turbo Tax.   You have to go to a local tax accountant or place.  Don't think anyone can efile your pdf or .tax2022 file.  They would have to re enter your return into their program,
