See this IRS website for information - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/economic-impact-payments-what-you-need-to-know
In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.
Yes. People who typically do not file a tax return will need to file a simple tax return to receive an economic impact payment. Low-income taxpayers, senior citizens, Social Security recipients, some veterans and individuals with disabilities who are otherwise not required to file a tax return will not owe tax.
IRS.gov/coronavirus will soon provide information instructing people in these groups on how to file a 2019 tax return with simple, but necessary, information including their filing status, number of dependents and direct deposit bank account information.
Can I file on my ssi

SSI is Supplemental Security Income and is not from the Social Security Administration. It is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and. It provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. SSI is not reported on a tax return.
Social Security Retirement/Disability/Survivors benefits are reported on a form SSA-1099 and the benefits received are reported on a federal tax return. The benefits may be taxable depending on the amount of other income you have entered on your tax return.
However, if the Social Security benefits are the Only income to be reported on the tax return, then there is no reason or need to file a tax return.

SSI is Supplemental Security Income. SSI is not reported on a tax return.
If you are not filing a 2019 tax return and you are not required to file a tax return and you do not receive Social Security benefits, then use this TurboTax website to register for the stimulus - https://turbotax.intuit.com/stimulus-check/
Social Security Retirement/Disability/Survivors benefits are reported on a form SSA-1099
If you receive Social Security benefits, see this US Treasury website - https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sm967
How do I file taxes. Could you help
Will my stimulus check be deposited on my direct Express card
@Elainemariejones You have posted to a long and old thread full of other people's questions and the answers to their various questions. We know nothing about your situation except that you posted to a thread that began as a question about SSI. Is that what you receive for your income? Are you trying to figure out how to get the stimulus check?
Many people are confused by the terms Social Security and SSI---they are not the same. Do you get Social Security benefits or do you get SSI?
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND SSI?
https://www.ssa.gov/ssi/text-over-ussi.htm
For the stimulus check:
If you get Social Security then each year you receive a SSA1099 from Social Security in late January/early February showing your Social Security and the amount you paid for Medicare.

If you receive SSI--you do not receive any sort of document to use on a tax return and do not file a tax return that reports the SSI. Here is where to register for the stimulus check.

where or what web site do I file on?
@User2743428 YIKES! Try to change your username. This is a public forum and it is not safe. Everyone in the world can see your personal info. Someone could call you and say they are from Turbo Tax and steal your info and scam you.
