Schwab 1099 - can't Import - login fails "Login Temp Unavail, Try Later"

I agree persistence is key.  Here is what I did...

1. start TT import process for Schwab

2. Login to Intuit

3. At the login to Schwab screen, try it a few times (and get the Temporarily unavailable error"

4. Cancel out of that screen and it will take you back a step where TT or Schwab will give you a "Try Again" button.  Click it.

5. Try login again to Schwab and BINGO it works.

(This worked for my on my TWO Schwab Logins.)

This is correct but please first verify that you have first enabled desktop turbotax access from your schwab account. it will be a waste of time to attempt this without first enabling this access which is a new setting from schwab. good luck y'all

I finally got this to work.  I tried all of the tips listed on this thread, like changing passwords at Schwab, disabling reenabling third party access, multiple attempts, etc., but none were successful

I had to wait for an early morning opportunity to try the last tip.  Up early today before work (5am Central time) and worked perfectly on the first try.

Today, March 8, the import worked for TurboTax Windows desktop version.

It did not work yesterday.

I do not know if something was fixed, but I did the following:

1) after loading TurboTax, I logged into TurboTax.

2) (a) opened a browser (Microsoft Edge) and logged into TurboTax online

(b) opened a new tab (not a new window) and logged into Schwab.

in Schwab I chose to "remember device".

(c) in Schwab I went to SecurityCenter|ThirdPartyAccessToAccountInformation - Confirmed third party checked

(d) in Schwab I went to SecurityCenter|ThirdPartyAccessToAccountInformation - clicked on "TurboTax" arrow and selected both "current Schwab brokerage accounts" and "Automatically link...."

3) (a) Went back to TurboTax windows desktop application and opened current tax file

(b) selected Schwab for import and followed directions to log in. A screen to accept legal terms came up which I accepted (not reading since not a lot of choice in declining), and import worked.

(c) checked import and totals matched pdf of 1099 I downloaded from Schwab site.

Note on Step 2:
I did this because the TurboTax import popup for Schwab, and comments from other replies, implies a browser is happening behind the scenes to link TurboTax and Schwab.

Edge is my preferred browser in Windows settings. If Edge does not work, it might be due to a different preferred browser (like FireFox, or you have multiple browsers loaded on your PC.
So, if it does not work, open TurboTax and Schwab the same method in all the browsers on your PC.

cant import tax forms from Charles Schwab on my PC. In Turbotax Premier the "CONTINUE" button after approving 3rd party from Schwabb does not appear.

Also when log on to Schwabb the login id is not highlighted so to highlight I must go to password and back  to highlight and then it gets me on but on the screen I cant go down below  the box to approve third party to use continue because the page ends. I have 3rd party approved so this is a turbo tax issue.

I have called the phone and been disconnected after 1 hour.

Pleas Turbo Tax “experts”. Elevate this problem up the chain  SO IT GETS FIXED!!!!! And don’t insult us with the generic workarounds THAT DONT WORK!!

If anyone with any authority spent the time to READ through these threads they “should” realize this is a MAJOR problem and NOT user error!  So typical of big business to blame the consumer. Cmon Turbo Tax and Schwab, get your act together and FIX THIS.

Just changed my password on Charles Schwab! It did no good! Still can’t schroll down to WHERE THERE SHOULD BE A CONTINUE BUTTON on the screen. 
I have 26 pages of data to enter if I can’t download and frankly that’s the reason I bought turbo tax! When will this be fixed ????  No one seems to be able to help!
