It worked for me on 24 February 2022 just fine. I had issues when I tried to get it done before then but kept on trying every couple days.
So I installed TT on one my older PC running Win 10 and it works fine. My new PC running Win 11 had issues with the window pop up where I couldn't enter in the Schwab login. I would argue this is more of a TT issue not compatible with Win 11
I'm doing 4 tax returns. I've had to try repeatedly but got through on 2 of the returns. Problem seems to be worse in the middle/end of the day. I'm using Apple; not sure if that is a factor but Schwab and Safari don't play well together.
I'm disgusted with both companies. Schwab for making it so difficult to use Safari; making it difficult to customize screens without having to spend an hour with tech support, or Turbo Tax with it's fake duplicate 1099R problem that's been going on for two years and now I can't import a 1099's.
I'm on the fence if I'm going to use Turbo Tax next year. It's a shame because I've been a customer since 1998.
I got in yesterday, 2/24 with 2 returns. Today with the other two.... "sorry unavailable". Well maybe I'll be unavailable to Turbo Tax next year. Do they give a rip about their customers? I'm beginning to wonder.
Still no luck I tired multiple times and days! Don't know what I am going to do! Very frustrated
It finally worked for me last night -- 25-FEB-2022. If you have not done so already, shutdown and restart TurboTax. It "should" check for updates. Allow it to download and install the updates, then it will look for updates for tax form changes. Again, let it download and install it. After I did this, it worked so there may be a fix when you download and install the latest updates.
I'm very disappointed with Intuit that they have kept very quiet about this. I understand the nature of corporations not wanting to "expose" themselves but I work at a very large company in the bay area. We do tell our customers about issue they may encounter and possible remedies.
If Intuit had just say "Yes, we are aware of this issue and we are working with Schwab to address it. We hope to have this issue addressed soon and we will notify you once we have. If you do not receive notification, check the <whatever website> for status. "
Again, disappointing. Its already bad enough that we have to go through this tax thing each and every year. And its worse when you have to pay a tax accountant or use software at a premium price to do so. To me, that is a tax to pay a tax.
This may be a little off the subject but one thing I noticed this year is if you have multiple documents to download from the same account, if you don't download them all at once, then Turbo Tax (Or Schwab) deletes the one you didn't download. I was downloading one at a time certain accounts for certain family members to make sure they reconciled and posted to the right place on the tax return. I've done this in the past. This year... I had 4 1099's to download. I downloaded one, then downloaded the other 3 a couple of days later. When I downloaded the other 3, it deleted the one I did first. I never noticed this before and I NEVER had this with Fidelity.
Bottom line - when a large company starts spinning off and restructuring - like Intuit has, customer service and quality go down hill. And that's what's happened to Turbo Tax. Stupid errors like the Duplicate 1099R problem (part of a different thread), now Schwab not connecting, and previously downloaded 1099's being deleted when a file is updated, etc. It's really disappointing and I'm seriously thinking twice if after over 20 years if I want to keep using this product.
Solution that some mentioned to clear cache etc is only for TT online version. Most that still have problems are using TT download version. It's still a problem till now. TT needs to fix this.
Yes, clearing cache and cookies are for the Online version.
Please try the following steps to see if this will allow you to upload your 1099. First, try the information in this Help Article for how to import a 1099.
If those steps do not work, try this Help Article on how to fix a 1099 import.
One workaround is attempting to upload the form under the different Schwab accounts listed in the drop-down when attempting to upload 1099.
Once you have tried each of those, another workaround is to go to the Schwab website, change your Schwab online password, then log back into Fidelity to review the 1099s that are available. Exit Turbotax, log back into Turbotax, and retry the process.

this worked for me as i needed to update a corrected 1099. in feb i had no problem downloading and re-downloading from schwab so a TT update was most likely the cause.
Thanks for this post.
I just spent an hour on the phone with Charles Schwab Tier 2 Technical Support. The issue is that Schwab changed their external download security features, informed Intuit/Turbo Tax and have been told by Turbo Tax that they are working on the fixes but it is not a priority for them. As of March 5, the only solution is to manually enter the data as other Members have stated.
Turbo Tax needs to fix this problem. I escalated with Schwab and was told they are going to reach out to Intuit and see if they can force a solution on them, as they are getting tired of all the customer complaints because Inuit is blaming Schwab.
After 20 or so tries, I was able to import my Schwab forms into TT, and others have reported successful imports as well. It was very frustrating to keep at it over multiple days, and, unless there are major financial incentives on offer, I will be going back to HRB next year, but I was able to do it. So it still seems to me to be a lack of bandwidth. Whoever is in charge of the gate is letting in only one sheep at a time.
Good news, I can confirm today as of 3/5/2022 6pm PDT that connecting to Schwab works BUT that you have to repeatedly try. I tried for about 10 minutes off and on, then 30 seconds of repeated attempts and FINALLY it worked without the "Login is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call customer support."
So, repeatedly try for a few minutes.
The bad news is, I owe even more taxes than I thought I would. :(
Problem still exists on TT download version. Please fix this "known" problem. Adding the stock transactions manually isn't an option for hundreds/thousands of transactions. It was never a problem in the past years, but only this year after somehow intuit forces you to login to intuit first before login to schwab.
The priority for fixing this problem should be raised to priority 1 as tax due date is getting closer and closer!
