When unexpected results occur, I recommend signing out of the program and closing the browser window completely. Wait a minute.

Then, open an incognito Chrome Window. Go to the TurboTax support at this link: TurboTax Updates for Stimulus Payment Registration.

This issue should be corrected soon.  Please retry electronically filing your stimulus registration later today.  This issue should be fixed.

Please make sure that  this link you used to file for your Stimulus Registration.   On this link, select If you don't need to file your taxes this year:

For the past couple days we have been being told that there is a known issue and we should retry because it should be fixed "soon". However whenever we ask for the steps on how to resubmit we just get a link to the what you should know section. Once it rejects the registration we are only seeing a print option, no option to review or resubmit. Are we to just blindly create new accounts to retry the registration or will we be given steps or possibly even be informed when the issue is fixed?

Did you file a return in 2018 or 2019?

i have a question so i did file 2018 return and 2019 but my 2019 was rejected due to someone else filing so turbotax suggested i file a 1040x which i did but im curious if this will delay the economic impact payment

I had the same problem. However I don’t have an option to try to do an online submission again. It only gives me the option to print

These links may help explain and guide you through the process.

https://turbotax.intuit.com/stimulus-check/ link to stimulus registration (SR).  It is very important that you uses this link that says register now if you don't need to file taxes this year.  Otherwise, you will not be able to E-file a zero return. It also has the calculator.

The IRS says it is working on developing a web-based system for people to give the government their direct-deposit information. Keep checking www.irs.gov/coronavirus for more details on this.

I have this same issue. You are advising to re-file electronically. Does this mean creating another account? When I went to the link specified and tried incognito mode, it still prompted me to sign into my account, which of course did not give me an option to re-file, only to print.

I used the correct option for filers that do not have to file a return and who do not receive social security. I input all requested information correctly, submitted and my stimulus registration was rejected with instructions to mail a printed copy. Why is this? Multiple "tax experts" are citing issues with TT and are giving different information such as to re-file, create a new account or just reiterating what I already know. With all due respect, can someone please answer my question? This process is already frustrating without "tax experts" adding to the confusion with answers that seem to dodge the actual question

It wasnt fixed. I tried from a different device and it was still rejected.

If you used the stimulus website, you may have picked the wrong option to file a zero return.

Why was my stimulus check rejected

JohnB5677

If you had filed a 2019 return, or tried to do the registration earlier, you will get rejected because the IRS will only allow one E-file per SSN.  This is for security reasons.  If all else pails, you can mail it in.

Make sure that you are using this link for your Stimulus Registration.  When you are on this webpage, scroll toward the bottom and select, If you don't need to file your taxes this year.  If this is the site that you used, please re-try electronically filing your Stimulus Registration.

I received a text stating my stimulus request was rejected..I logged back into TURBO TAX and saw that I had to fix an error of entering my 6 digit pin from IRS ..I haven't filed taxes in 3 years. I don't have a pin.  Called the number that was given to receive pin..states not accepting calls.  Go online to request pin and get error of info doesn't match.

Mines said that too and why hasn't anybody provided the real reason why it got rejected or to help some with a better answer than what I've been seeing...

IRS is a thorn in my side. It first rejected the 2018 AGI for my mother in law for not matching, though it did accept it for my father in law from their jointly filed taxes.  How could his be right and hers wrong when it's the same number from the same form? I've already filed my 2019 taxes, but didn't supply my direct deposit information, and told to do so before April 15th. But it keeps rejecting my form since I already filed, it says to mail the form, which that won't arrive in time for me to receive a direct deposit.  IRS says a portal is coming soon, but not there yet. IRS says use Turbo tax, which still rejects my form. Tried multiple times using the advice to logout and reopen again.

It will always reject because you already filed a return.  You only use the portal if you are not required to file a return.

The IRS is working on creating a portal for you to enter your deposit information.  No word on how long before it is available.
