Yes, if your filed either your 2018 or 2019 tax return and your bank account information is on it, the IRS has what it needs to direct deposit your stimulus payment into your bank account.
RE: The COVID-19 stimulus check and direct deposit. My girlfriend hasn't had to file taxes the last 2 years so her direct deposit info wasn't in the system due to her opening a new bank account. We followed the link to file through TurboTax for non-filers to update their direct deposit information. The federal return was accepted but the California return was rejected (REJ002). Do we need to do something else or is the acceptance by the federal government all we needed to be able to receive the stimulus check?
What if I accidentally claimed myself as a dependent? Or it said someone can claim question and I accidentally said myself. Please help I don’t know what into do.
If your return was filed incorrectly as far as your dependent status, you will need to amend your return.
If you filed, it is like dropping it into a mailbox - you cannot get it back.
You'll have to wait until your return is either accepted or rejected.
See this TurboTax FAQ for help with amending.
You can check the status of your amended return here, but allow 3 weeks after filing for it to show up.
Why was my stimulus rejected?
What was the reject message?
My stimulus was paid to a closed acct I used for 2018- I filed for 2019 in feb and the irs still used 2018 info ... what do I do now because the old bank rejected the payment.
IRs website on Get My Payment just rejects every time I put in our information. I have filed with Turbotax for YEARS and always use direct deposit which those details haven't changed either - why didn't we get a check and how can I find out why they don't have our info if I have been using turbo tax
How do i fill out my value part of my form
I'm not sure of your question. What are you referring to, value part of your form?
I have been trying to file under the non filers for the stimulus payment. I did not have to file 2018 as made under minimum amount and 2019 I did not work. I had a child in July of 2018. When I went through the non filers return it has got rejected 3x now. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I got rejected by state and accepted by federal is that normal because its only a federal check for stimulus?
To check your account details, go to IRS: Economic Impact Payment Get My Payment Resource.
The tax return will only be submitted if there is income reported and necessary details are included. If you have a rejection, there should be a code to explain why. See: How do I fix a rejected return?
Yes, you are correct. The state has nothing to do with the stimulus payments.
why my stimulus rejected by the irs
Did you file a return in 2018 or 2019?
