State of South Carolina
Form 1: Tax-Exempt Pension should not be entered directly on Form 1 for State Electronic filing. You should enter the information on the Federal Return, Form 1099-R and/or use the Pensions and Annuities Smart Worksheet to make any tax-exempt adjustments.
After entering the 1099-R in the federal section and answering the question about it being from the Massachusetts Board of Retirement, and going through the MA state section "Pensions and Annuities Summary" to verify the 1099-R was excludable from MA tax (G - Tax-Exempt), I'm still getting this error when attempting to e-file:
I did enter as Qualified Government Distribution.
One point is that my total distribution is different from my taxable amount. These differences were entered from my 1099R form.
During the State Review process is continually opens the window at top of this message.
I could not e-file my State Return either - even after the Federal Tax Return was Accepted. Ultimately, I USPS-mailed my State Return - because there is a FEE to e-file the State Return.
It seems that if you want to e-file both Federal and State Tax Returns, you have to e-file them together, simultaneously - and Turbotax suggests to do so. I chose to do them separately.
I backed out of the page - and printed/mailed my State Return - for free.
I completed Federal and CA state taxes and started to efile both with the desktop Turbotax Deluxe version. The state efile fee is $10 and I want to pay by credit card. The Intuit sign on window pops up but allow me to enter any credentials. I've been efiling with Turbotax for years and have always paid the efiling fees with my credit card. I'm stuck. I restarted the software and rebooted my computer. Still stuck

I have completed both Fed and State returns. I could not complete the filing because you asked for a CAlif. confirmation number to type in . I called the Sales Rep number but nobody knows what it is. Please help me so I can complete the filing process.

Did you ever get the Oklahoma State return to E FILE? I tried all morning yesterday with no success. And an hour on the phone with Turbo Tax support with an idiot who had no clue what he was doing or what I was asking. Beyond frustrating!
Do you have a specific question we can help with?
@travelgalmel
Anyone find a fix for this? Can you just file federal alone? Then print and mail the state return? Thanks
What is the specific issue that you are personally experiencing when attempting to file your state return? @622gm.
My pension is tax exempt in Massachusetts. State information is pulled from federal accurately. They are questioning the information and if I manually change what was pulled I will have to mail. I finally gave up and did a state extension for the $0 we owe each other so I could get the federal to file electronically.
I got a message it was fixed. I am in Oklahoma and was able to e file my state return on the 10th of April. So frustrating I spent 6 hours trying to do it when I filed the federal and the support person I spoke to was absolutely clueless. Good Luck
When I clicked the button to transmit returns it just kept taking me back to the start of the return with no error messages or anything specific to fix. I was able to file it Monday April 10th with no issues my state is Oklahoma
My federal return has been accepted, Turbotax shows that it is accepted and the software still will not allow me to e-file my state return. Any suggestions? We're running out of time and I've been fighting this for a couple of days now.
