Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I could not e-file my State Return either - even after the Federal Tax Return was Accepted. Ultimately, I USPS-mailed my State Return - because there is a FEE to e-file the State Return.
It seems that if you want to e-file both Federal and State Tax Returns, you have to e-file them together, simultaneously - and Turbotax suggests to do so. I chose to do them separately.
- When I CLICKED THROUGH as though I was going to e-file my FEDERAL RETURN [after already having done so], I was able to [see that I could] e-file my State Return on the NEXT PAGE and the following was noted:
- my Federal Return was already e-filed.
- $20 Fee for e-filing State Return.
I backed out of the page - and printed/mailed my State Return - for free.
