Unable to undo my "Verfied Tax Pro" Selection

I use TurboTax Online but this year I saw an option to help on taxes with expert / verified pro. After choosing the option, taking an appointment I realized the verified pro service is not needed. But when I login now, I cannot get rid of that "verified pro interface" i.e. I cannot start my taxes the the usual way instead the only option i now see is to choose how to select my verfied pro

Anyone knows how to undo the "verified pro" option selection, choose my regular TT Online option and start doing taxes myself

There are two ways to switch to a cheaper TurboTax Online product: Switch to Free Edition and Clear and Start Over.

You can’t switch if you already paid with a credit card or had your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund.

Switch to Free

You can use Free Edition by selecting Tax Tools in the left menu, then Switch to Free Edition. Selecting this option keeps all the data you’ve entered so far.

Note: TurboTax Free Edition is for customers who are filing Form 1040 and limited credits only. Roughly 37% of taxpayers qualify. If you have additional forms or attachments, you’ll need to use a different TurboTax product.

Clear and start over

You can also clear and start over to switch to a different product. This option erases your information to give you a fresh start in the new product you've chosen.

I can't get to the point whereI clear my info. But isn't that punitive, that you lose your information, simply for clicking a button to get more information about a product??? I never even scheduled an appointment. I was half way through my taxes and simply clicked on the product to get a better description. Now I have to re-do information from my W2 (not that big of a deal) and 2 rental properties (problematic!) Thanks alot turbo tax! I may as well just use a cheaper program since I have to start over anyway.

I had the same issue. When you enter the "verified pro" screen, and it shows your tax professional - select find another verified pro. When you select this, it will ask why? It will generate numerous options to select for your reason. Comb through the options and you will find something that says "I will complete my TurboTax myself" (I'm paraphrasing). 

From there you will be able to get back completing your taxes yourself.

I had to go to the bottom to switch to Full Service... and then in the Full Service area, I had to select Leave Full Service / Complete My Own Taxes. This is very convoluted and feels cringey... like they're purposely trying to lure you into paying more because you feel too frustrated to figure out how to downgrade. May discontinue using TurboTax after using it for many years. The interface has changed and not for the better.

Thanks for this answer, melisnathi (switching to full service, and then you can see go back to basic service) This is the only thing that worked for me as well.

Your answer is to go to the left menu and select tool. There is no left menu and there is no tools. My only option is to select a por. This is ridiculous and I would consider going with another online survice if not all my previous years' information is with turbotax. Why does Turbotax makes this so difficult?

Please tell me how to go back to do my own taxes.

The left menu and Tools refers to TurboTax Online.

If you're using TurboTax Desktop, here's how to cancel TurboTax Live:

1. With your tax return open, go to the File Section
2. Proceed through the screens until you reach the Just a few steps left... screen, then select Start or Revisit next to Step 1: Review Your Order.
3. On the Your order summary screen, select Remove TurboTax Live.
