I called TurboTax Helpline. Discussed my problem with help associate.
I was asked to share my computer screen with the person, which I did.
I had TurboTax (Desktop) open on my screen.
I was in the last phase of tax filing on “File”Tab. Then I was asked to show my “Personal Info” tab. Reluctantly, I showed my Personal Info page which has my name. SS#, DOB, and my home address.
Is it a reasonable question to ask me to show my Personal Info page which has nothing but Name, Address, SS#, and DOB?
At one time, I was even asked to share my entire tax return...but later stopped.
I was also asked to provide my account info in TurboTax.com so I could be helped. I said I never filed taxes through TurboTax.com so there is no tax records there. Not sure what info is there in TurboTax.com so I could be helped. I did not provide my account info in TurboTax.com
Am I in any sort of risk? Has this happened to anyone else? Just wondering!
ps: I got an email from TurboTax asking me to fill out survey questions for this service. It has case ID. I did respond to survey and also stated this particular issue in comment box.
All I wanted was additional information on tax filing date extension to May 17, 2021. For that, I had to show my Personal info screen which has our personal:vital information, was asked to share my entire tax return (later backed down), and also wanted my TurboTax.com account info! All these made me very uncomfortable.

Are you sure it was a legitimate number for TurboTax Support? How did you get it? If you did an Internet search, there's a risk of getting some unofficial support site.
I called

The forum privacy filter won't let you post a phone number in regular format. It recognizes the format and redacts it. Where did you get the number?
If it was (800) 446-8848, that is the phone number shown on this page:

I'll see if one of the Moderators can comment about your concerns.
That’s the number I dialed
I'll see if someone can answer your question about why Support would ask to see those things. It likely won't be until daytime tomorrow.
@ GabiU or @ Katie_B When one of you is next in the forum, are you able to please assist this concerned user as to why Support would want to see those particular items mentioned in user's question? Thanks!
Good morning folks- while I do not have any insight on this particular call, it is common practice for support agents to view various parts of your return while troubleshooting to look for any anomalies that may be present.
Based on my personal experience, new agents do take some time and practice to understand when they need to see this information in the course of testing or not, so that may be what happened in this case. I appreciate your diligence and concern!
I hope that’s true!
Is there an article that indicates what exactly within the TurboTax return what the agent can view, i.e. is the personal info blocked?
Please see the section titled SmartLook option in the link below.
