Purchased and downloaded Turbotax 2019, but my Mac won't open it because it can't verify that malicious software is not in the download. What do I need to do to open it?

I have iMac running Catalina and I cannot load TurboTax 2019. It says that Malicious code cannot be checked.

In System Preferences under Security & Privacy you must allow the program to work!
Go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy and under General permit the program to work!
Unable to download 2019 Basic for MAC. At one point Intuit told me I haven't completed my 2018 return (not true).

I have been on hold for over 2 hours so I went on line and sent a message which came back with a different 800 #. When I dialed this I got transferred to the earlier number and I am on hold once again. When I was sent my download for 2019. The download for MAC is 2017. This can't be correct. How do I get the correct download. This is sooo frustrating.

Mac OS Catalina defaults to download from Apple Stores only. I switched to download from everyplace and I downloaded Turbo 2019 correctly. Thanks
Running Catalina 10.15.13. Turbotax Delux downloaded fine. It actually worked for one day. In fact, I complete my taxes but just didn't file.
Since then, it will not open. App icon bounces, the "verifying" splash screen flashes for an instant, then nothing. I have uninstalled completely (indluding files under 'preferences' 'cache' 'saved application state' and so on. Reinstalled with my purchased link. Reinstalled with a link sent no charge from Intuit. Tried running in safe mode. Nothing has worked.
I cannot use the online version of TT because of my tax situation. Will it help to downgrade from Catalina to whatever we had before?
