CD Didn't work, went online and did taxes, where do I enter license code ?
@jeff145 Did you ask for help installing the CD? What or how didn't it work? We could have helped you download it instead. Maybe we can help you get it working now?
Sorry you can't apply the Desktop purchase to the online version. They are separate things and don't talk or sync to each other. You would have to get a refund for the Desktop CD/Download program and pay for online separately.

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).
This process was excessively frustrating. I wasted 2.5 hours. The good news is that this "fix" works. Once I changed the resolution to 800 x 600 I was able to successfully enter my license code.

If you're using the Windows version, then this may be related to either a screen resolution or scaling problem in your Windows settings.
In Windows 10 to get to the scaling and resolution settings click the Windows start button in lower left corner, then choose Settings (gear icon), then System, then Display. Or for a shortcut, you may be able to simply right-click on an empty area of the main Windows desktop monitor screen (not the TurboTax program screen) and in the popup menu choose "Display settings".
NOTE: After you change the scaling or resolution setting as discussed below, you may need to close and relaunch TurboTax for the change to take place in that activation window.
First try the scaling setting. In your Windows Settings do you have scale set to a higher value than the normal 100%? If so, change it back to 100%. Once the license code is entered and activated, you can later change your scaling setting back like it was.
If lowering the scaling to 100% didn't help, then it may be screen resolution. Try a lower screen resolution such as 800x600. If that doesn't work, then try 1024x768. If still not working, then gradually increase the screen resolution to the next level. Once you get the license activated, you can revert your resolution setting back like it was.

I had a blank activation screen. Went through all the replies and tried everything - uninstall/reinstall multiple times with various other changes, IP adapter changes to DNS settings, screen resolution changes, CCleaner cache clean up, deleting program folders, turned off firewall/antivirus, multiple reboots, etc. Each time I'd get a little further then end up back at square one with either a blank activation screen or a "greyed out" (actually pinked out) license code field when I could get past the blank activation screen. Then FINALLY came across (what I hope to be) the final fix and I just placed mouse over the license code input field on the now showing activation screen and clicked in it, hoping it was indeed in the input field although there was no visual indicator to show it was, and I typed my license code without dashes despite there being no visual indicator that it was receiving my input at all, and voila - I'm finally in and on the registration field! Thank you to all the forum users for being so clever.
I downloaded the software but the activation screen is just a blank white screen.
