Thanks, Mesquite,
I will certainly be checking tomorrow as I have significant refund exposure. If you hear any more, I’ll appreciate your posting. Thanks too for the link. I’ve been following it.

As a software engineer, my recommendation would be (at least for next year) to change the software's error message to be more precise about differentiating between situations where a form simply hasn't been finalized by the IRS yet (thus you can't e-file *YET*) versus a case where you truly are ineligible to e-file for some other reason.
In my case, during review the software tells me:
"It looks like you have a tax situation in your federal return that makes it ineligible for e-filing, according to IRS rules. You have form 7206 Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction that is not supported for electronic filing."
In reality, form 7206 simply hasn't been finalized by the IRS, so TurboTax can't complete the return until they get it and update the software to use the finalized version of the form.
So much customer confusion and annoyance (not to mention tech support burden) could have been avoided had the message read more accurately:
"Your return requires form 7206 which has currently not been finalized by the IRS, so we are unable to e-file your return at this time. However, once the IRS finalizes this form we will update your software and you may return here to perform the review process again and continue with e-filing at that time."
Completely agree. It appears TT is relying on Tax Expert personnel, who, I understand are not TT employees, and nice folks on this board, like you, to communicate for TT. Not too classy a look.
The IRS issued the final version of the 5695 form on December 7. The Turbotax "you can't file yet" message first said it would be available in TT on January 31. On January 29, that was changed to Feb. 7. On Feb. 7, that was changed to "soon." I've been "updating or logging back into your software" on a daily basis. Instead of treating me like a "turn the computer off and turn it back on" neophyte, why not say something factual and useful?
You reveived your return in 6 days??🤔
No update yet as of 2/8/24 9:06 am... what a crock.
This has been resolved. Make sure your software has the latest update. You might also try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies, and reopen TurboTax.
@CatinaT1
I have installed the latest update this morning, but the issue has not been resolved. Although I did clear my browse cache and cookies as requested, as a software engineer with 30+ years of experience I don't see how clearing the browser cache and cookies would affect a native Windows application like TurboTax since cache and cookies only affect web browsers. Regardless, the issue persists:
Right on. This issue is not resolved!!!!
That does not work... same error and lack of e-filing... what the heck... next year another software. You say that is the solution and it does not work. I tried it 8 times
This does not resolve the issue I am having. Attempting to transmit e-file returns generates the following error message: "FAILED_VALIDATION. There is an update available for your version of Turbo Tax. Before you can file electronically, you'll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates."
I did that and a message text box displayed that my Turbo Tax is up to date. Still cannot e-file. Please advise.
that I did. I was definitely shocked when I opened my checking account and saw a bigger than expected number in there
that is the same for me. did updates 8 times today and same problem with form 7602... cant e-file.
Go to the browser and use TT, then it should work just fine for you.
Do you mean if you have TT desktop installed, you suggest going on line and somehow filing that way. I’m trying to understand your suggestion. on my iMac I have updated successfully but still get the error message that says you have to file manually. What is your configuration and other environment criteria?
