This return has certain forms that can't be e-filed

Same thing here, been using TT for over 20 years. Since I couldn't efile because TT said it was because of my forms. Now I am finding out it is because of the date. Too late for me, finished taxes on Jan.28th and mailed them. Thanks to TT now I have to wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll take a TT refund, or use a different product next year.

I had the same problem... adding a Schedule C absolutely stopped it e-filing. They said it was a problem and they were working on it and then I got a message that said to run new updates and so today I did just that and now, we were successfully able to e-file today feb 2nd

Although frustrating, I applaud TT for not allowing clients to file their taxes with errors. It is not their fault that several new forms such as 7206 were not finalized earlier by the IRS. Allowing e-file, when the forms are not finalized can lead to errors which can come back to haunt later in life.

If you have self employed health insurance deductions form 7206 must be included on your return, even though it was not present for tax year 2022. You should not delete this form unless you do not have self employed insurance deductions.

Patience avoids errors. TT is not making life difficult for you, it is preventing filing incorrectly.

Me too.  I hope that when it becomes available, the update will automatically remove the exclamation point mark next to the 7206, and that'd the system will then show that all is now in order to efile.  Perhaps they will also follow up on the offer to keep us posted via email.

What is going on with form 5695, the residential energy tax credit? I was ready to file January 14, but could not because the form wasn't ready. At the time, TT said it would be ready Jan. 31 AND that the delay was the IRS's fault. BOTH STATEMEN TS WERE LIES.  I received an email from the IRS saying the final version of that form went to vendors (e.g. TT and others) ON DECEMBER 7, 2023. 

TT then said it would be ready Feb. 7. Well, here it is, February 7, and now TT is saying it will be ready "soon." SO THAT IS ANOTHER LIE.

I do not need that form this year, but TT won't let me delete it, apparently because I have a prior-year carryforward that I cannot use.

Last year, I filed as soon as possible, and my refund was deposited to my account on January 18.  Here it is February  7, I have major bills to pay with a refund of over $3k, and TT won't file the return.  THIS IS A MAJOR ****UP BY TT.

I hear ya. I am waiting for an Electric Vehicle credit, form 8936. It was supposed to be ready on January 31 and has been postponed to February 21. Same bunch of lies on follow-up. Tax return was ready to go January 15, except for this form. $14,000 refund held up for three weeks. This is irresponsible.

hope you guys get your problems corrected quickly. I couldn't send mine electronically either because of the schedule C problem. That was fixed last Wednesday I believe. Sent mine in that day and had the refund in my bank account yesterday 6 day turnaround.

The table shows it is not yet ready at the time of this comment.   Even if the programming of the form might be ready today, the program may not actually push the update until the end of the day or even overnight when TurboTax does its routine weekly updates, usually early Thursday AM, assuming the delay is not further extended.   You can use this table to check on it.  A green checkmark will appear in the table next to the form once available.
