I was wondering I paid u guys the 200 and something dollars and u guys can’t help me with my state tax I didn’t get it for 2021 and 2020 what’s the point of paying u guys that much and u guys can’t help me u guys thing says guarantee I’ll get the amount and for two years I didn’t
@Wanvue8497 TurboTax does not and cannot "guarantee" that you will get a state refund. TurboTax has no way to know if you owe back taxes, child support or some other debt in your state that could cause the state to seize your refund, nor does TurboTax have any way to know if the state income information you entered was correct or complete. And....legally, TurboTax cannot get any information from your state after you file your tax return.
What happened? Was your state refund offset, or reduced by the state? Did the state send you a letter?
How was your state return filed? Did you e-file it or did you mail it to the state? What does the state web site say?

I filed my 2021 Federal income taxes in April 2022 online with TurboTax. And you guys said the returns were accepted. It's now late June and my effing refund has not arrived. I have called the customer service line on several occasions, but nobody picks up the phone or returns your call. The automated service asked for a ten-digit Customer ID. I was never issued one when I filed. But I do have a Turbo Tax Order number: [removed]. My name is L. My email is [email address removed] Help!!
@Lgholson - a few things
1) no one on these boards or Turbo Tax would know the status of your return at the IRS. That is information only the iRS would know and is confidential between the IRS and you. The IRS doesn't share status with anyonje buy you.
2) the IRS is woefully backlogged. And the issue is exacerbated if you had anything listed on Line 27a, 28, 30 of Dorm 1040 which are EITC, Child Tax Credit or Recovery Rebate Credit/ stimulus.
3) 'accepted' is a response from the IRS that they have it; it does not mean that they have reviewed it.
Best advice is to be patient. There is nothing you can do otherwise to accelerate this.
here is what the IRS website states:
How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We have processed all error free returns received prior to October 2021 and continue to work the returns that need to be manually reviewed due to errors. We are continuing to reroute tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened and processed in the order received. As the return is processed, whether it was filed electronically or on paper, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit and the Child Tax Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues could take 90 to 120 days depending on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.
What you should do: In most instances, no further action is needed but you may check Where’s My Refund? or you can view your account. If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s My Refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. If you filed before October 2021 and Where’s My Refund? does not have any information, your return has been opened but work on it has not begun. We’re working hard to get through the carryover inventory. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
Why haven’t I received my refund it’s been 3 months
Where is my refund
Find out where my refund is
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2840013-does-accepted-mean-my-refund-is-approved
OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
They still do this. I need help with a 2020 1040x form and they continue to have this stupid answering machine telling me they can't find my account when I am literally staring at it already
@05ae84abda97 What help do you need with a 2020 1040X? Did you already file the amended return for 2020? Or are you trying to prepare the amended 2020 return now and do you need help with the form? What are you trying to do?
@xmasbaby0 I’ve made a post right after I made this reply but I need help filling in lines 1-15 on the 1040x. It’s all been turned in back then but my school is asking me to fill in that info now. There is no income change. The change I made to the tax form was selecting the correct dependency status. From dependent to independent. But I don’t want to write the wrong numbers on the wrong lines on accident
I filed my return approved by Turbo Tax and the IRS accepted it. Then they sent me a letter on May 9th that they were reducing my refund to $0.00 from $1400.00
I can't find the letter now but it was not anything I did so I did not respond. Here I am in July and no refund.

If your refund is short $1,400 then that is because you said you did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment and the IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit that was entered on Form 1040 Line 30.
Go to this IRS website for your tax account to see if the 3rd stimulus payment is entered - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not a $1,400 EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-p...
@knchdwck - here is the issue -
there was a point in the Turbo Tax interview process when you were asked how much you received for the 3rd stimulus payment. You must have responded 'zero' so that $1400 ended up on Line 30.
But according to the iRS records, they sent you that money last March - May, 2021, so they adjusted your return by the same $1400.
1) check you bank account statements from last March - May, 2021. you should find the $1400 there.
2) you were eligible for the stimulus or the Recovery Rebate Credit (line 30) but not both, so the IRS adjusted your tax return so that there will be no refund.
3) if you have no evidence that you received the $1400, despite the fact that the IRS has evidence they sent you the $1400 last year, you'll have to submit a 'tracer form'. see the link below
