Are you on Windows or Mac? Have you updated the program? For Windows go up to the very top menu line Online-Check for Updates. Plus then I would reboot your computer and start it again.
I was wondering if that interview section shows up because it was somehow related to some residency, or mail address setting in the Personal Info section?
Like did you, or spouse, indicate for state Residency that you were living in a Foreign country, or US territory?
....or put in at a foreign mailing address?
............Or perhaps one of you has an ITIN and not a SSN?
I received a call back close to 3 hours later...but because they were having their own computer problems, they were unable to solve the issue...and was told to call back on Monday since they were closing soon(?)
It's funny...I also received an email notifying my case was closed(?)
@SteamTrain I installed my Home & Business program last night. After I entered my Social Security it asked me that country question. So that’s new. I’ve found a several new things and changes. Have to get used to it. The program doesn’t navigate the same way. Especially interest and dividends. There isn’t a table just a big long listing and has BOTH interest & dividends mixed in the SAME list!
I saw that also in the Deluxe program...Wasn't to impressed with that change... Makes it sloppy when you click on the dividend box but then it allows you to click on an interest box...it might be time to switch to another tax supplier next year...
I have the same problem with 2024 TurboTax Deluxe. When I clicked on "Update" for "Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)", it asked me the same question about living in those countries, and after I clicked "No", it went back to the previous page. So, I went to "forms" by clicking on the "Forms" button on the upper-right corner next to the "Notifications" button instead, and chose the "Social Sec" form, where I could enter the Social Security benefit information for the year, and it worked.
Form SSA1099 is corrupt. When clicking on update the program goes into a loop. Might consider H&R block next time since TurboTax can't fix problem!!!
