Not accepting a bank date for money owed.

I have to file an amended return. So that is fine, and I am getting ready to file and I am trying to put in the date for the deduction. For some reason it is say $0, but it has also told me that I need to have a deduction from my account of several thousand dollars.

So it won't take a date for the withdrawl. So I can't electronically file my amend return. I am so tired of Tubox Tax buggy software.

It's not a bug in TurboTax. The IRS does not accept payment for an amended return by direct debit from your bank account. If you e-file the amended return you can make the payment directly from your bank account using Direct Pay on the IRS web site. If you file the amended return by mail you can use Direct Pay or you can enclose a check with the amended return.

Not accepting a bank date for money owed.

Then why is the stupid software saying I can and stepping me through a series of steps to pay from my checking account for the amended return and telling me things like "good news as of August 2020 you can file an amended return."

Then in the end there is a cryptic error which makes no sense.

I just need to get a tax lawyer. Working around the bugs and not falling into the TurboTax bugs is is taking a lot of time. Really hating this product.

I don't want to hear back from you. I just want to warn other customers about pitfalls.

Not accepting a bank date for money owed.

Then why is the software stepping me through to do an e-file for amended and why is there an announcement in the software announcing that after Aug. 2020 amended reports can be e-filed.

This forum is worthless and just a bunch of turbo tax apologists.
