If you used TurboTax last year, you can log into your account a print out a copy of your prior tax returns to obtain their numbers.  Please see the link below for more information on how to do this.  Accessing prior year returns in TurboTax

You can also request a transcript from the IRS using the link below.   Requesting copies of prior returns from the IRS

If you are unable to use the methods above, you will need to contact the Social Security Administration to obtain a copy of your child's social security number.    Social Security Administration

@Bryanrainy27 You posted a very brief post to a thread full of other people's questions and replies.  I am only guessing since it is hard to tell what you are asking for help with.  If you do not know your child's Social Security number, it might be on one of your past tax returns, so look at your previous returns.  If you forgot how to access your returns you can use the account recovery tool.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

Here are some methods:

1.   Find the child's Social Security card.
2.  Look at a prior tax return where you reported the child as a dependent. (Do you need help finding a prior year TurboTax return?)
3.  Medical records
4.  School records
5.  Insurance paperwork, such as health insurance applications, life insurance papers, etc.
6.  Government assistance paperwork, if applicable
7.  Phone the Social Security Administration and follow their recommendations.

@Ebebigbossingup You cannot claim your child unless you enter the entire Social Security number.  You can try looking at a past tax return on which you claimed that child.  It will be near the top of the Form 1040.  Ordering a transcript will not provide it, because for security reasons the IRS only puts the last four digits of a SSN on a free transcript.  

Or you can contact Social Security and go through the process to replace your child's SS card.  Going forward, keep a record of such important information where you will not lose it.

doubt whether prison would release that info but good if it does.  if not he'll have to contact the Social Security Adm.

Otherwise, you need to Contact the Social Security Administration at www.ssa.gov.

Social Security numbers are confidential information, so they are not available online, except from some fee-based services that I don't think that I would trust.
