Appears to be an error when entering a Roth IRA contribution.  Turbotax is increasing the federal tax refund. It should no do that.  See quote below:

"Roth IRA Versus Traditional IRA Because Roth IRA contributions are not tax-deductible, it means that contributing to a Roth IRA will not increase your tax refund. "

You're less likely to get a response in this long cluttered thread with many users with multiple issues, but I see you did start your own new thread on that topic, which is good, since with a new thread it is more visible and more likely to attract a person familiar with it.   I see your other thread has attracted a tax expert and has an answer.    See if that resolves your issue.   If you need to continue the discussion, you may wish to continue it in that thread.  It's at this link:

Iowa 2020 Schedule A...  Using TurboTax Premier for Mac... Iowa instructions for Schedule A Line 4 indicate cannot take a "General Sales Tax" deduction on your Iowa Return unless on your Federal Return you used Schedule A and itemized this deduction there also.  On my Federal Return I used the "standard deduction", however on my Iowa Return Schedule A TurboTax included the "General Sales Tax" deduction.  Is this an error ??

Turbo Tax Deluxe calculated my taxable income as $62,709 which for 2020 means a tax due of $7,132.  Turbo Tax calculated a tax due of $3,136.  How do I resolve this problem??

It depends on what kind of income you have, if you have capital gains or qualified dividends the tax is not taken from the tax table but is calculated separately from schedule D.  The tax will be calculated on the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet.  It does not get filed with your return.  In the online version you need to save your return as a pdf file and include all worksheets to see it.

For the Desktop version you can switch to Forms Mode and open the worksheet to see it.  Click Forms in the upper right (upper left for Mac) and look through the list and open the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet.

You can probably tell because the tax on 1040 will be less than the Tax Table

I live in Springboro, OH and the Ohio State School taxing district for Springboro is 8302, but Turbo Tax will not accept it as being valid.  I attached screen shots of the TurboTax error message and two different Ohio State screens showing the number I provided is correct.  I am not able to complete filing until TurboTax quits flagging as an error.

@ Hal_Al   When you are next in the forum, do you have any suggestion for user JTROBERTS in regard to the Ohio school district code in his images above and why TurboTax is not accepting it.   Thanks!

By the way @ JTROBERTS  right after I requested the help from Hal_Al,  I just noticed that in your first image above (the form from TurboTax), the County field asks for "first 4 letters", and I see you have the full name of the county entered.   I wonder if that would have anything to do with it not recognizing the code.  Whether that's significant, I don't know.   But maybe that is causing some sort of "mismatch."   You may wish to try shortening it to the first 4 letters to see if that makes any difference in your problem.

    2020 Tax rate for Head of Household for $55468 should be 22% not 12%. $55,468 x 22% = $12,202 Not $6656.

My return shows $6656 with $55468 for taxable income on my 1040. Why?

you are looking in the wrong place the tax tables say the tax on 55468 for HOH should be 6553. you are reading the tax rate schedule incorrectly. on that amount of taxable income, the tax is $6162 + 22% on taxable income over $53700. so only about $1800 of your taxable income gets taxed at 22%.  there is no error to report.

When I completed my 2020 tax return online through Turbo tax BEFORE the American Rescue Act (ARA) my State refund was $811.  After Turbo Tax made adjustments to federal 1040 adjusted gross income to reflect only a portion of Unemployment Insurance to be taxed, my state refund changed to $1,137.  I printed the documents and was going to mail them but later decided to efile.  A week later, I logged back into my online TurboTax account and the top of the screen now says I'm only getting a state refund of $811 (back to the original amount prior to ARA was approved)  BUT the printed documents still say a state refund of $1,137.  Which one is correct? The federal remained corrected.

the online version would be correct, assuming your state taxes unemployment income.

while the federal return removed up to $10,200 of unemployment income, there was no impact for the state.  Thus $811 before the federal was adjusted and $811 after the federal was adjusted makes sense.

What product are you using--desktop software (CD/download) or Online TurboTax?  If desktop software, is it for Windows or Mac?

"an error" is too generic.  You'll need to provide specific info, and someone might comment here, but it's less likely to be seen in a long cluttered thread like this with multiple users and various issues.

Or if you wish, here's how to reach TurboTax Support for realtime help by phone:

When I'm asked if I have a 1099-R, I click on YES, next screen tells me I'm about to be impressed. I click Next, and the page goes blank...never loads.

    I was not impressed.

The fact that it said you would be "impressed" would be a bit comical and ironic, if it were not frustrating.   I'll assume you are using Online TurboTax, because that screen is not present in the desktop software.    What it hopes you will be "impressed" by is that it allows you the opportunity to import the 1099-R into your return--IF your Payer is a participating partner, and if you want to import it.   Otherwise, you'll have the opportunity to choose to type it in yourself.

In the Online version, a non-loading page is sometimes due to a browser issue.   Do you have another browser to try?   That will often solve it.   If you don't have a second browser handy, then try this:

    Log out of TurboTax.

    Empty the browser Internet cache.

    Close and open the browser.

Log back into TurboTax and try again.

If you still have the problem page after that, do all that again, but this time when you open the browser back up choose a private window (aka private browsing, incognito mode, etc.)

    Does it still recur?

The non-loading page is titled "Let's import your tax info", and it has a search line and some financial institution logos.  When you finally get to it, if you don't want to import, or if your Payer is not a partner institution when you use the search line, then you can scroll down on that screen and at the bottom right choose "Change how I enter my form."    On the next screen at the bottom choose "Type it in myself"  and continue on.

    Form 1040 form 1040Sr Line 1-7.

4a has an entry of 1160

4b has an entry of 2320

How can line 4 b be greater than line 4a

The latest version increased my taxes by significantly  as I think line 4b should be the same as 4a or lower

Correction.   The total distribution should be on line 4a.  Try deleting the 1099-R and see  if goes away form both lines.

I believe that can happen if you have more then one 1099-R.  Some 1099-R's leave line 4a blank if it is all taxable.

Problem 1.   I completed the IL-1040 with part year residency. TurboTax showed her owing $600+ for income of $7519.  This obviously was incorrect so I looked at the return and it showed the correct amounts for Federal AGI and for Part year IL portion on line 5 of Part 3 of the form; however on line 15 it added the $7519 again doubling her IL income!  I could not see where to fix the issue so...

Problem #2:  on the e-file page I unchecked IL state tax because I did not want to knowingly file an incorrect return.  A few minutes after e-filing the federal return I got an email saying the IL return had been accepted!  The problem for me is that I had gone to the IL.gov website and e-filed he return there!

I realize that I will have to wait to fix the return but the IL part year issue is concerning as well as the check box issue on your e-file page.
