The Connecticut Personal Income Tax Return Line 48a is incorrect. The state program calculates 25% exception pf a pension from a police pension. This is incorrect and I don't know how to override this error. It makes a difference of over $1,000 tax refund.
Not sure if a software bug or operator error.
Foreign tax credit amount shown on line 20 does not drop down to line 37.
Tax amount on line 18, is reduced by amount shown on lines 20, producing a correct "total tax" on line 24. However when line 33 is deducted from line 24, the result on line 37 is incorrect. Only year 2020 estimated payment are subtracted from tax, not the foreign tax credit. I am unable to modify the amount shown in box 37 of form 1040.
How do I correct this?

The Foreign Tax Credit should be included in any figure on Form 1040, Line 20, and then is subtracted from your taxes to arrive at the figure on Line 22. So at that point the FTC would have already lowered your taxes and wouldn't be subtracted again. i.e., Foreign Tax Credit is subtracted prior to Total Tax (Line 24), thus lowering your total tax liability. While estimated taxes are payments subtracted on Line 26 after Total Tax.
I'm not sure what you mean by "doesn't drop down to Line 37." It has already been subtracted out prior to Total Tax, so the Total Tax figure on Line 24 and any figure on Line 37 should already take that into account. For illustration purposes, here's a very basic example, which assumes there aren't other credits on Schedules 2 and 3, no SE tax, no additional credits/payments other than estimated taxes.
Line 18: 4,000
Line 20: 250 Foreign tax credit
Line 22: 3,750
Line 24: 3,750 Total Tax
Line 26: 3,000 Estimated tax payments
Line 33: 3,000 Total payments
Line 37: 750 Tax due
The figure on Line 37 in this example already takes into consideration the subtraction of the 250.
If that doesn't explain your situation, then you need to provide more info. But don't post any personal info in this public forum. You can use fake numbers like I did.
I received a letter on March 29 stating that the Recovery Rebate Credit was incorrect, that they had changed the return to correct the error and, as a result, I owed an additional $197 (which I have paid).
On your Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet the problem begins on Line 16 where the amount entered for EIP 1 is incorrect. (EIP 1 was $2,400 received May 2020). It should have been the same as Line 5. Subsequent Lines 17 and 18 are incorrect. Line 19 (EIP 2) is correct. The error on Line 16 resulted in Line 21 value of $1,200.
I electronically filed both FIT and SIT returns on or about Feb 3.
I have received my SIT refund but have NOT received my FIT refund.
Must I (or should I) file an amended FIT return given that IRS said they have corrected it?
You are done with federal. The IRS corrected your return and instead of getting a refund you owed the $197. So you are not getting the refund at all.
So how much is on line 16? Only 1200? Line 16 comes from the amount you entered in the first box on the Stimulus Screen in the Review section. Did you enter 2400 in the first box for EIP 1 you received?

which version are you using? Desktop version works correctly
According to the Turbotax Review, Line 19 of my Schedule E Asset Entry Worksheet should be left blank. I show it blank, but the software does not accept. How do I fix?
Bank issued RMD by mistake and took out tax. They then returned RMD to IRA but it was to late to reverse the Tax to IRS,
When I put in$0 for RMD and $900 for tax, SFW will not Efile.
others are having this same problem due to the COVID where we did not have to take an RMD and the bank made a mistake.

I haven't heard of a problem filing with that. It's probably too late now but you could have put back the withholding from your own money and you would get credit for the withholding on your tax return. Now the withholding has become a taxable distribution by itself. And you still get credit for the withholding as usual.
BUT you do not put 0 for the RMD! Since there is no RMD required for 2020, after you enter the 1099R say it was NOT an RMD and then that you rolled it over (even if back into the same account).
If you already entered the 1099-R as RMD and changing your answer to the RMD question doesn't work then you have to delete and renter the 1099-R form.
@Drcrypto wait a second..... what does the form ACTUALLY state? that is what needs to be entered.
let's say your RMD was $5000 and the related tax withholding was $900. How much money did you send back to the IRA? in my example, was $5000 returned or $4100.
if it was $4100, then the distribution should be $900 and the tax was $900.
Again, what does the form ACTUALLY say, that is what you have to enter
When I'm asked if I have a 1099-R, I click on YES, next screen tells me I'm about to be impressed. I click Next, and the page goes blank...never loads.
I was not impressed.

I was not impressed.
The fact that it said you would be "impressed" would be a bit comical and ironic, if it were not frustrating. I'll assume you are using Online TurboTax, because that screen is not present in the desktop software. What it hopes you will be "impressed" by is that it allows you the opportunity to import the 1099-R into your return--IF your Payer is a participating partner, and if you want to import it. Otherwise, you'll have the opportunity to choose to type it in yourself.
In the Online version, a non-loading page is sometimes due to a browser issue. Do you have another browser to try? That will often solve it. If you don't have a second browser handy, then try this:
Log out of TurboTax.
Empty the browser Internet cache.
Close and open the browser.
Log back into TurboTax and try again.
If you still have the problem page after that, do all that again, but this time when you open the browser back up choose a private window (aka private browsing, incognito mode, etc.)
Does it still recur?
The non-loading page is titled "Let's import your tax info", and it has a search line and some financial institution logos. When you finally get to it, if you don't want to import, or if your Payer is not a partner institution when you use the search line, then you can scroll down on that screen and at the bottom right choose "Change how I enter my form." On the next screen at the bottom choose "Type it in myself" and continue on.
