When I try to pay for my state eFile with a credit card I get this error. I see that there were several people who had the same issue last year, so apparently it has not been fixed.
I am using TurboTax Home & Business 2024 that I downloaded on Windows 10 PC.
I was on the customer service line last night for 1.5 hours and I'm currently on customer service line today.

Please call Customer Service and tell them you have a "block payment issues, possibly due to billing or an invalid license" and the agent should be able to help you. Here is how you reach customer service: Turbo Tax Customer Service
After another hour plus on the phone today, the customer service person told me my product key is invalid. She said it was used by another person and then returned. I don't know why TurboTax didn't tell me the product key was invalid when I first installed it. I bought the TurboTax from a non-authorized seller, so I was told to go back to the seller to request a refund and re-purchase the software at an authorized seller.
I am very angry with TurboTax this year. I spent over 2.5 hours of my time on the phone with 4 different representatives to find out that the issue was caused by an invalid license code. For some reason, the code I had was used by another person and returned. I bought the software this year from a seller called guifff.com which I found out today was not an authorized seller. The code was accepted when I installed the software, but gave me an error when I tried to pay for the state eFile. I had to purchase another copy of the software (this time from amazon.com) to be able to eFile. After this year's hassle and added expense, I'm planning to use H&R Block next year.
i have similar problem and my issue remains after talking to Intuit Support today for 2hr13min. my software was purchased online with BigHome.
Customer service was focusing on issues with my credit card, billing address, etc. I kept repeating what CatinaT1 wrote: "Please call Customer Service and tell them you have a "block payment issues, possibly due to billing or an invalid license" and the agent should be able to help you." Then I asked them to check my software license key. When they did check, they said it was registered in another person's name and then returned, so it is invalid. I don't know how a license key can be returned and re-sold. And I don't know why TurboTax doesn't immediately tell the user that the license key is invalid when it is first entered during install.
I suggest you ask customer service to check your license key. That was my problem and a new key fixed the problem.
They offered to sell me a new one and sent me a discount email, but I ended up re-buying it from Amazon.com for cheaper than the discounted price from Intuit.
Finally, I found a fix (fox me).
Just use Pay By Phone to get through!
same with me, I purchases Ttax from Big Home Tax and I've wasted too much time trying to file my taxes. I blame Big Home AND Turbo Tax. I asked my cc for a refund from Big Home and I'll buy another version of Ttax. But Ttax should have informed me as soon as I installed the software that there was a problem with the key code.
A lot of these resellers that are unauthorized sell the license code to multiple people. Because you can file up to 5 returns with the desktop version, the license code works until it comes time to file and the license code is registered to another account. Always purchase from TurboTax directly or a trusted authorized reseller.
I don't see where the 'pay by phone' option is hidden.

I got this message when I tried to use a credit card to pay for state filing:
"Hmm... it looks like we’ve hit a slight snag
Please try again or check back in a bit."
I do not even have an opportunity to enter the card information.
I turned off pop up blockers as recommended in another post, but that did not help.
I called Intuit/Turbotax at [phone number removed]. It rings only once then disconnects.
I have not tried to pay the fee by deduction from the refund. I figured I could save $15 by not doing that.
Perhaps I'll try that, but hope I can resolve this!
Update:
I tried a variety of resolutions recommended in the Community. No luck. Could not get through to TurboTax on the phone.
I resorted to having the $20 state filing fee and the $40 processing fee deducted from my refund.
**bleep** shame is what it is. At least I'm done with filing taxes!!!!
update part 2:
I filed as noted above. Then my daughter attempted to do her taxes, but the code was no good! I texted the problem to BigHome and they responded a few hours later with a new code. All good.
Nevertheless, notwithstanding but with sitting, I won’t buy from Big Home again. I’ll use Sam’s Club again. BTW, I used to be on auto purchase thru TT but the cost was much higher than Sam’s! WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT! You’d think they’d give a discount knowing they’ve got a nearly certain sale. C o c k suckers!
LOL! They bleeped out the word d a m n!!!! See if it happens this way....
update: figured out how to cuss in this forum. Blanks between the letters. C O C K Suckers
