Can you (or anyone) help with EXACTLY HOW you are accessing the form in TurboTax. If you have been successful, a step by step instruction with help a lot of people in this forum. I don't think we will get another 1099-R right? I have the desktop version of the software. Where do I start. Let most people here, I took out a distribution in 2020 and spread it over 3 years. I just want to allow for the second 1/3 on my 2021 taxes. How do I start?
I went through my taxes with a live agent and they couldn't find the form, nor was I able to find it. No matter how I filed.
1) Received email notice 2/24 that form 8915f is available.
2) Opened TT and filled out 8915F which accurately integrated into return already in progress.
3) Attempted to re-open 8915F on 3/26 to amend partial re-payment into return and form 8915F is no longer available to amend in my return!!!! It's not searchable and the snotty condescending TT phone rep who first laughed at me to "relax" that "it's easy to find" subsequently couldn't find it either and then advised me the form is not available now until 3/31!!!
GET. IT. TOGETHER TT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See my post two down from yours.
It was available then has been taken down, looks like until 3/31/22.
It was available 3/24 and integrated into the IRA distributions section but has since been taken down.
If you take this route the IRS will believe you owe a 10% early WD penalty!
@Gunboat82 I took your advice and filed with FreeTaxUSA and am so glad I did! The process was way easier than waiting around for TurboTax to get the 8915-F form right. Seriously, if you are still waiting around with TurboTax, go file with FreeTaxUSA and get it done today.
I figured where 8915F is hidden in TT (to address Cares Act distribution 2021 1/3rd portion) :
Login > Wages/Income > Retirement plans and SS > IRA, 401k.... > Did you get 1099R? NO > Have you taken disaster before 2021? YES > Fill out form!!!!
Hope this helps someone! The TT support guys have no clue how to get here and TT "help" directory doesn't even list form 8915!!!
It gives me the option to fill out the information when I select "yes, I had a 2020 qualified disaster distribution", but then it doesn't do anything with the information. It isn't added anywhere in the actual return and it doesn't have a form 8915-F on the completed return.

If you had a Covid-19 related distribution in 2020 and selected to spread the distribution over 3 years -
Answer No when asked if you received a Form 1099-R in 2021, if you did not receive the form
Answer Yes when asked if you took a disaster distribution
Answer Yes when asked if you took a Qualified 2020 Disaster Distribution
Check the box that this was a Coronavirus-related distribution reported in 2020
If the 2020 distribution was from an account that was Not an IRA
2020 Form 8915E Line 9 - Enter 1/3 of the amount from the 2020 distribution in both boxes for Line 9
If the 2020 distribution was from an IRA account
2020 Form 8915E Line 17 - Enter 1/3 of the amount from the 2020 distribution in both boxes for Line 17
The 1/3 of the amount from the 2020 distribution will be entered on the 2021 Form 1040 Line 4b if from an IRA or on Line 5b if from a retirement plan other than an IRA
Turbotax's website says this form is available but I do not see it. I'm trying to use the turbotax download. ?

The software update was available on 03/24. To update your software click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Check for Updates.
To view the Form 8915-F, click on Forms. When in Forms mode click on Open Form at the top left of the program screen. Type in 8915-f. Open the form.
For clarification!! This form is embedded deep into the software. You have to make sure you are answering the questions regarding the disaster section. When you get to the drop box for disasters, do not answer, continue on. When you get to the end, check your files and you should see it in there. Be careful not to delete it by mistake. Sadly it doesn't just pop up as an entire separate page stating that it is the caronavirus form 8915-f. Instead I feel like it is piece mealed through the entire section. What does intuit actually mean? I dont feel like anything is intuitive...
I downloaded the federal update in Turbotax today and lo and behold, the 8915-F is there for use. Now, getting to it and using it was a whole different story but I figured it out - the interview helped but I had to find the form manually and complete it. Bottom line is I was able to complete my taxes today, finally.
The 8915-F in the desktop version was available today with the most recent Federal update!
The form 8915-F was finally made available with today's Federal update - I was able to file today finally!
