Form 6251 and 8801.

Turbo tax deluxe will not allow me to file. It states forms 6251 and 8801 will not be available until March?

Is this a glitch in the software. I have never experienced anything like this before.

    Some forms may not be available which can cause this message.  Please see the Help Article here for IRS Form Availability.

    The IRS says forms 6251 and 8801 are available. H and R Block say the same. How come TurboTax is not available??

    thanks and i agree    probably a covid thing as everyone else is using that excuse

    I got to the end of my federal taxes and the software indicated that form 6251 and form 8801 are not available yet from the irs.   never experienced anything like this in the past.   What is going on as turbotax indicates that they will not be available until March.  But when you do a search of tax forms they show up.  What gives

    In this public forum, we are provided with IRS form availability information, but not an explanation as to why the form is not available until that date. For additional information, it would be necessary to contact TurboTax customer support

    This happened to me too, after I had already paid for it. I had this happen now three years in a row. Others had the form and turbo tax did not. It time to look at another company for filing if this is going to be the norm now. I have used them for as long as I can remember,  but just started having these issues the last few years.

    Form 8801 is available now but mine still has problem. With a lot of lines blank and can't do it in step by step mode.

    What software are you using?  You may need to manually update your software.  If you are using Windows, please see this Help Article for steps on how to update.  If you are using Mac, please see this Help Article to remove/reinstall the software.  if you are using the Online version, try these steps:

    • Log completely out of Turbo Tax. 
    • Then, clear your cache and cookies within your browser and completely close out of it.  I have included the Help Articles below if you need assistance with clearing cache or cookies. 
    • Re-open the browser and log back into Turbo Tax and see if this fixes the situation.  
      • You can also try a different browser as well, or "incognito mode".  

    If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please reach back out here in the thread and someone will follow up with the next steps.

    Thanks for replying. I'm using windows turbo tax premier. My last update was 3/11/22. I checked and it said my software was up to date. Do I have to manually update it?
