Don’t qualify for free file

I don’t qualify for the free file this year but can’t get my account to work on the original one, I get a message that says I have to file with the irs.gov sight. How can I use the regular service instead of freedom file. I’m using a cell phone.

As long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered, you can erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online. Then you will be able to start fresh and choose the product that is right for you.

I cleared following instructions, logged off and then back on and it still online takes me to the free page.  frustrating.  May just need to try another service

You will start with the free version but then be asked to upgrade if a situation applies that requires an upgrade.

That's not working for me (February 21, 2020).  I deleted my return, re-entered the info, but am still taken to the

IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax doesn’t cover your tax situation

page.  I note that the url starts with us-west-2.turbotaxonline.intuit.com instead of just intuit or turbotax.  How do I proceed to purchase TurboTax services and complete and submit my return?

Are you able to save the tax file that you have in the Freedom Edition and then open it in your TurboTax paid program?

I am having the same issue. It doesn't make sense that I would have to do all that work and then delete everything just to pay TurboTax if the free version isn't for me.  No, there aren't any upgrade options on the right or left. No, signing out and signing back in doesn't work. I've been using TurboTax for years. If I have to start over, I'm going to go start over with another service provider.

Not true at all.  It's stuck in a loop between the IRS site and yours, it took me through every imaginable process for my taxes then forgets to mention that it won't allow me to file... Are you just mining my information?

TurboTax FreeFile is a different product from TurboTax Free or Basic.  Completely different service level without all the bells and whistles of regular TurboTax.  Due to the nature of FreeFile, I would recommend setting up a new user name separate from your TurboTax user name when entering your tax information into FreeFile,  There are income limitation to use FreeFile.  Also, make sure and print a pdf copy of your 2020 return when completed to have as reference for 2021 filing.
