How do I find a receipt or transaction of IRS payment?
Payment was processed using TurboTax software using credit card. Credit card company processed the payment and paid IRS.
IRS is saying the charge was reversed but credit card company says they didn’t get any reversals. So IRS is asking for receipt of payment.
How do I obtain a receipt? Also tax audit assistance was worthless as they didn’t help here.

TurboTax never knows how, when or even if you paid your tax due, so TT cannot get you any sort of proof that you paid the IRS. Your only proof that you paid the IRS is going to be your own bank or credit card records. Even if you entered bank or credit card information into the software when you filed, TT is not responsible for making the payment to the IRS. It is up to the IRS to debit the account and take your payment. See if you entered the payment information correctly---did you enter a wrong account number somehow?
Your credit card statement showing the payment is your receipt. Give a copy of the statement to the IRS.
Which is very careless from TT.
IRS is asking for proof of payment with receipt and TT can’t provide that. How is that fair? Credit card company only has transaction info but that’s NOT enough for IRS.
People don’t have thousands of dollars to double pay IRS for TT neglect.
Not good enough. Been trying for months, congressional representative and IRS advocate involved as well.
