Computer crashed and lost my 2022 tax info. I have paper copies, but want actual file to make 2023 filing easier. The screens Turbo Tax suggest doesn't exist.

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

If you used the TurboTax online editions for tax year 2022 then follow this procedure to download the 2022 tax data file -

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year 2022 and Click on Download .tax file

I'm curious.  What screens don't exist?  What's it telling you to do?  Are you using the Online version or the Desktop program?

Just cannot get the "Tax Home" icon.  I logged in, then tried the 2022 program and the 2023 Turbo Tax program.  Typed in quite a bit of info on the 2023 program (up to where it want's 1099 data, which I don't have yet.)  Nowhere can the Tax Home icon be found.

As previously stated - If you use the TurboTax web-based online editions for tax year 2022, not the TurboTax desktop editions you would have installed on a personal computer, click on Tax Home on the left side of the online program screen.

If you started the 2023 TurboTax online web-based edition then the Tax Home link will be available.  See screenshot -

That takes you to the Tax Home web page where you can download the 2022 PDF and/or the 2022 tax data file.  See screenshot

I already bought the desktop version.  It looks like in order to use the on-line version, I have to buy another copy.  Not good. 

Anyway, thanks for your trying.  I liked having the previous years version, as Turbo Tax then shows you this years input vs last years, which helps prevent missing any documents.

@rbmickelson Let me answer this a little differently and try not to confuse the issue -

1.  If you purchased and installed the 2022 TurboTax software on a personal computer and the computer crashed then there is no way to retrieve the 2022 tax data file.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

2.  If you used the 2022 TurboTax online web-based editions and want to use the 2023 TurboTax desktop editions on a personal computer, you only need to download the 2022 tax data file (.tax) from the online edition.  You need to start a 2023 return using the online editions, you do not need to pay for or complete the 2023 return.

The 2023 on line version destroys your 2022 tax files when it tries to update if you used CD in 2022. Watch out if you need your 2022 files. They will be corrupted by the new internet software with no warning at all. I had two copies both destroyed because the CD didn't work and I wanted to file so went on-line. HUGE MISTAKE.  Cost me more than the relationship is worth. And no longer a customer after this is resolved somehow by me not them. I paid for a   working program and they failed miserably. Will not be buying from them or Staples moving forward. Customer since 2016, now mad at the tax guy that recommended them. This is 100% total failure in my mind.
