If you qualify & filed a 2019 or 2018 return (if you are on Social Security or Disability, you don't need to do anything).

Who qualifies for the stimulus payments?

The payments go to almost any adult with a Social Security number, as long as they aren’t dependents of someone else.

Those adults get the payments for the children in their household. Payments start phasing out for those with income above $75,000 in adjusted gross income for individuals, $112,500 for heads of household (often single parents) and $150,000 for married couples. The payments start shrinking above those levels.

For those with no children, the benefit disappears at $99,000 for individuals and $198,000 for married couples.

According to the IRS, Social Security recipients and railroad retirees who haven’t filed tax returns for 2018 or 2019 will receive $1,200 stimulus payments based on information contained in their “1099” benefit statements. No additional paperwork is required, per the latest guidance from the IRS. However, for those who haven’t filed 2018 or 2019 tax returns, and who are not Social Security recipients or railroad retirees, a “simple” tax return will be required even if you don’t ordinarily file a tax return. The IRS has yet to specify what is meant by a "simple” tax return.

I am single and filed taxes in 2018 and am not a dependent on anyone elses tax return, and made under 75,000. I have not received a stimulus check in my bank account yet. I did not receive a refund and am under a payment plan with the IRS which means they deduct my monthly payment from my bank account each month. I was a 1099 misc worker at the time. When I go online to "Get My Payment" I get a message saying "Payment Status Not Available". Is this because I was a 1099-misc worker or because I still owe money to the IRS? Am I eligible to get the payment because according to everything I've read, I am. So why then this message? Will I still be getting a check? If so, when? I've read through all the FAQ's and IRS information and it does not give a satisfactory answer.

Payment Status Not Available – We cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time. For example, you didn’t file either a 2018 or 2019 tax return, or you recently filed and the return has not been fully processed.

Not helpful. I did file in 2018 and have not yet filed for 2019.

The Get My Payment site is operating smoothly and effectively. As of mid-day today, more than 6.2 million taxpayers have successfully received their payment status and almost 1.1 million taxpayers have successfully provided banking information, ensuring a direct deposit will be quickly sent. IRS is actively monitoring site volume; if site volume gets too high, users are sent to an online “waiting room” for a brief wait until space becomes available, much like private sector online sites. Media reports saying the tool “crashed” are inaccurate.

In situations where payment status is not available, the app will respond with “Status Not Available”.  The IRS reminds users you may receive this message for one of the following reasons:

  • If you are not eligible for a payment (see IRS.gov on who is eligible and who is not eligible)
  • If you are required to file a tax return and have not filed in tax year 2018 or 2019.
  • If you recently filed your return or provided information through Non-Filers: Enter Your Payment Info on IRS.gov. Your payment status will be updated when processing is completed.
  • If you are a SSA or RRB Form 1099 recipient, SSI or VA benefit recipient – the IRS is working with your agency to issue your payment; your information is not available in this app yet.

You can check the app again to see whether there has been an update to your information.  The IRS reminds taxpayers that Get My Payment data is updated once per day, so there’s no need to check back more frequently.

The IRS continues to closely monitor the situation. In addition, more information will be shared on IRS.gov shortly on some common questions taxpayers are asking.

Posting the same link over and over again IS NOT TELLING US ANYTHING

Apparently if we used part of our refund to pay you guys, a service you claim is FREE to use, we may not even get our checks! So which is it? Are we getting our payment or not?
