I have tried to contact and they tell me someone will call back and no one calls back. I am at a complete frustrated lost here and truly don't want to have to print and mail my return
I see a workaround update for the States of New York and Mass however none for my State....
When will see an update for Missouri.
The work around for New York State only left me with a new loop that prevented me from efiling. The zip file on the following page was what finally fixed my TurboTax. It is applicable to all states.
Here's what I get when I double click the file to install the patch: "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."
I tried putting the file into the same directory as Turbo Tax 2019, same thing happens.
@scline If you're having trouble updating your TurboTax 2019 for Windows Individual software using the "Check for Updates" method, you can get the latest federal program update here: Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software (Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Home & Business)

This update solved my problem the same problem most were having saying it needed some update and could not e-file. This update resolved it.
The resolution is applying this update:
I am in Illinois, bought my TT Premier from Amazon. I tried filing my taxes together(FED and STATE), and I got the same dialog box. I decided to try them individually, and the FED worked fine. The STATE gave me the dialog. After a lot of research, I uninstalled my 2019 version (still have 2017 and 2018 versions installed), and logged into TT online. I downloaded/installed 2019 Premier using my key, and when I loaded TT for the first time, it said it needed to update. Once it updated, I opened TT and was able to e-file my Illinois with no issue! I did NOTHING other than uninstall, and then re-install from TT ONLINE using my DVD key (from Amazon). I will say, however, that TT ONLINE showed my version as being 'Amazon'.
Three weeks after initial post, and I have having the same update loop trying to file my returns...
* I've tried the w_perrelsuperpatch_ttax_2019.190.0101 update
* uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't seem to work for any one
* Support call (Sunday 03/01) landed me with someone who could only helplessly say he was sorry - try back on Thursday and maybe it will be fixed.
Why does Intuit let these folks representing them on the phone hanging with nothing but "i'm sorry" as their version of help?
Adding insult after the call telling me to wait until Thursday, I get a "case closed" email with a survey - how can this case be considered closed?
This is year 19 with TurboTax (not the free version) and I have never had any previous issues - what happened this year?
@two ruths, please call customer support again and tell the agent on the phone that it is a known issue and that the solution is to push a federal software, then state. This should resolve your issue. Please click here to get in contact with customer care.
WOW. Seems like nobody bothered to try the solution posted two weeks ago.
At least click on the link and read what it says. Then download the 184 MB update and install.
When I efiled I got an error message saying the transmission did not go through. It says I need an update but there is no update.
@Lavey - Try just submitting just the Federal - and not the State at the same time. That worked with the Federal for me earlier this week. I am still having to tackle the State - but at least the "big one" is done. Will update this wknd if/when I get State submitted and the process for that (most likely will have to call Support as I don't think it magically is fixed) ...hope this helps a bit.
Yes, I was able to submit just Federal, but State wouldn't work. I ended up uninstalling TT and then reinstalling completely (from the download, not the DVD). If you go to TT online, you can install from the download using your DVD key. Once it all updated, I was able to submit the state. No real trickery involved.
