Sorry you can't apply the Desktop CD/Download program purchase to the Online version.  They are separate prices and work different.  You have to pay for online and try to get a refund for the Desktop program.  Or switch to your program.

Unfortunately, those are 2 separate products and are not interchangeable and have different pricing structures.  A license code is only for desktop software (CD/download).

There are a couple of options:

You should be able to get a refund for the desktop software (we can tell you how).  Was it bought directly from TurboTax or another retailer?

Or the other option is to see if we can help you install your desktop software.  Then you can download the *.tax2021 data file you prepared in Online TurboTax and finish and file in the desktop software without starting over.

If you want to go that latter route, do you have Mac or Windows PC, and what was the roadblock?  Did you buy a CD and have no CD drive?  If so, you can download the software.  Or does your computer not meet the minimum system requirements to install the software?

Sam's may give you the refund, if you want to try there first.   They are more likely to do it if it was a CD rather than a download.    If they won't, or if you prefer to do it online, you can use this online refund request form.

I purchased Turbo tax Premier but wouldn’t load on Windows 10 laptop due to possible virus. So I downloaded TurboTax on my iPad instead. The APP works fine but can’t find anywhere to enter the License Code on the APP. I’ve used TurboTax for years on my Laptop but first time trying iPad.

Sorry the mobile App is not the same as the Desktop CD/Download program.  It is only a portal into the Online browser version.  You need to try to install the program on your laptop.  Turn off your antivirus program to install it.

If you already started in the Online version you can move your return to the Desktop program even without paying for Online. 

First download the .tax file from the Online version,

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had.  So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - New)

Then you just OPEN the .tax2022 file, go up to File-Open.  You don't import or transfer it.

If you can't return it to Costco then ask customer service.  Use the words Billing Issue not refund.
