Paying your fees did not file your tax return. Did you go all the way through the three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said "Transmit my returns now?" If you did not do that, you did not e-file. Or, was your e-file rejected and you did not notice?
When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted or rejected your federal e-file. If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.
Check your e-file status:

What does it say in your account? Does it show that the return was accepted? Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2023.
Can you send me the 2023 Tax Documents I cannot seem to find them to print so I can mail to IRS. I got a notice from IRS 2023 taxes were not filed. I paids fee signed but it was not received. Thx Connie Caldwell Smith
No one has access to your account; no one can send you a tax return. You have to access your own tax return and print it out for yourself. TurboTax does not mail tax returns to you or for you. A 2023 return cannot be e-filed. The only way to file it is by mail. Paying your TurboTax fees did not file your return; if you did not go all the way through the three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said, "Transmit my returns now" -- you did not file your tax return. If you are getting a refund or do not owe, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, you are late and will receive a bill from the IRS later for the late penalty and interest owed after you pay the tax due as shown on the Form 1040.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2024 return online and enter some personal information so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.
Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.
You can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $30, an actual copy of your tax return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
In order to transfer a past year return to the new return you need the tax file
NOTE: TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years. Returns older than seven years are purged.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Sorry only you can download a copy. Paying the fees does not file the return. Did you efile? Was it Accepted? Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button? Maybe you didn’t finish filing it or it rejected or you were suppose to mail it. When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
Check back though your emails. When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. If you efiled there should be an Electronic Postmark page. Probably near the end. That is your proof and signature
