if you filed 2021 way after 10/15/2022 you don't need the 2021 AGI. as a matter of fact using that number can result in rejection because the IRS does not have it in its database. use zero when trying to e-file 2022
I am trying to file my taxes on turbo tax and it is saying I need to enter the AGI from 2021. I don't have my tax return from 2021.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for finding your 2011 AGI - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/find-last-year-...
If the IRS has not processed your 2021 tax return or it was processed late in 2022 or in 2023 then your 2021 AGI will not be in the IRS database. In this case just enter a 0 (zero) for the 2021 AGI so that you can e-file the 2022 tax return.
Where do I find my AGI?
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947
Your 2021 tax return shows your 2021 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.
Form 1040 line 11
If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2021
If entering the amount from your 2021tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead. If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2021 AGI may not be in the system.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online
Note: If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return. You will not be able to e-file your state return.
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2021 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2021 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

I need to get my 2021 taxes, which I filed with turbo tax, because the Irs is saying that I did not file.
@Maddlee13 Check your account for the 2021 return and see if you e-filed it and if the account says the return was accepted. Sounds like it was rejected, or maybe just not ever e-filed. The only way to file a 2021 return now is by mail. You have to print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
If you do not owe or are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owed tax due, you are subject to late filing penalties and interest, for which the IRS will bill you later.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
