How can I talk to a live person?

I have a mac book pro (2017) running high Sierra 10.13.1

I know turbo tax for 2020 won't run on it.

If I upgrade to Big Sur 11.1 and buy turbo tax 2020 CD will it run on my mac book?

How can I talk to a live person?

I need to update bank info

How can I talk to a live person?

If this is for the stimulus check you cannot update the bank info prior to filing your return ... if the money is sent to and incorrect/closed account the bank will reject it and the IRS will mail you a check to the address on the tax return.

Any payments not successfully delivered in this second attempt will be mailed no later than January 15, 2021.

If you have not received your payment by January 15, 2021, AND your status at Get My Payment, does not update to indicate that a check has been mailed, then you will claim your credit when you file your tax return.

Please allow a few days after the 15th for the mailing of any check or debit card issued by the IRS.

You will find the most current updates posted here: IRS Updates on the Second Stimulus and here: TurboTax updates on the second stimulus.  Both of these sites will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you can contact your local IRS office. See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment
Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

If you do not receive any other stimulus payments by January 15, 2021, then the stimulus payment for which you are eligible to receive will be entered on your 2020 federal tax return as a tax credit on Form 1040 Line 30.

The TurboTax program will ask about stimulus payments in the Federal Review section of the program.

How can I talk to a live person?

We’re doing everything we can to help customers affected by the IRS error get their stimulus payments as soon as possible. We will have more emails going out in the coming days, so if you haven’t received an email yet, it could still be on its way.

Check the IRS Get My Payment tool to see if the IRS has a 2nd stimulus payment for you. The tool should tell you where your stimulus payment was deposited or mailed. The IRS has indicated there’s nothing you can do to change where they send your payment.

  • Note: Updates may not be immediately reflected on IRS.gov, including the Get My Payment tool.

Please see the following page for additional information: Why Haven’t I Received My Second Stimulus Check?

How can I talk to a live person?

Please log into your account and verify that your return was accepted by the IRS. Filing a return does not count, the IRS can reject it or accept it. If your return was rejected, you need to correct it and mail it in.

If your return was accepted and you have not received a refund, you should have received a letter explaining why. If you have not, contact the IRS at 800-829-1040.
