I've been using this product for years without problems. This year I'm getting "Duplicate 1099-DIV" errors which then highlight two of my entries that it believes are similar or duplicates. I can understand this being an issue with downloaded forms but I am entering all mine manually. I tried deleting but it simply highlights a new set of duplicates. I've cleared my cookies, cache, changed browsers, and completely restarted TT from scratch 3 times but nothing seems to work. I know for sure there are no duplicates by checking the delete files tab. Can I ignore these and still have my return accepted by the IRS?

Do you have 2 1099-DIV forms that have identical amounts on them?
If so, you can increase one by $1, and decrease the other by $1.
You would be able to file the return after this.
I wish the problem were that simple. There are no identical entries that would explain the error. This is clearly some sort of software bug but I cannot get an answer from tech support. I've been using TT for over 10 years and have never encountered an issue like this. I've been using my work supplied laptop so it's possible that my employer's aggressive firewall policy is interfering with TT inputs. I'll have to try a different machine and see what happens.
Lets try to clear that original entry and repost it.
After deleting it:
On the menu bar in the sidebar on the left.
Repost the 1099-DIV manually

You can share your return with a specialist.
The return will be "sanitized", meaning all names, social security numbers and personal references are removed.
We will then be able to determine the source of the issue.
I tried all of the ideas you provided previously and it did not solve my problem. I even tried a different laptop but encountered the same duplicate 1099-DIV errors (the problem must be on your end).
I have a previous case # of 1542467189.
Are you using the Online version or the Desktop program? It shows the Windows Desktop program on your post. Did you transfer from 2023? If you entered them manually, maybe it is wanting you to fill in amounts on the transferred ones. What is the "delete files tab"? I have the Windows Desktop program and never heard of a delete files tab. Oh do you mean by opening the Forms Mode and deleting the 1099 Div forms?
Hi, I'm using the online version. The online version has a "Tools" button that enables the user to delete specific files/entries in the return. I just had a chat with Tech Support/shared my screen and they confirmed it's a software glitch on their side. We'll see what they recommend...
After multiple calls to TT Help, I've still received no solutions to my duplicate 1099-DIV issue. I have however found two work-arounds. The problem is if your Mutual Fund firm doesn't issue consolidated 1099-DIV statements (which most of mine don't), you end up getting a statement where each fund is listed as a separate line item. TT file import doesn't know how to handle this so you have to enter each fund separately and manually. For years I've just been creating separate entries for these line items and had no problems. Unfortunately there's a new bug in TT where if you put in more than one or two line items from a single company, TT interprets this as a duplicate 1099 and gives you an error. Here are my two work-arounds:
1- Create your own consolidated statement. It just requires more work and some calculations.
2 - Create semi fictitious names for your brokerage fund accounts so TT doesn't think they are duplicates
Example: Fidelity A, Fideliti B
The fact that I have to do this is ridiculous. Why does TT care if I have multiple statements from the same company.
