If you are filing your tax return through the Post Office, then yes...send the tax return, the voucher, and the payment to the IRS. If you have previously e-filed but did not opt to have your taxes automatically drafted from your bank account, then just send the voucher and payment to the IRS, in this case sending a copy of the return would not be necessary.

Only the voucher with your check needs to be mailed, nothing else.
No, you only need to send the voucher and the payment.
So if we opt in to have the amount of money taken from a bank account when e-filing, we would just send the voucher in the mail?

If you selected to have the taxes owed paid by direct debit from your bank account, there is no need to mail the payment voucher.
Am I able to change the elective withdrawal date for a city income tax payment? Is that something I have to change through TurboTax?
Once you hit submit you cannot change anything through TurboTax. You will need to contact the city to make any changes with your payments.
I just saw one of my city tax payment vouchers has a due date on 1-31-24 but I had no idea that was the case until after I filed my taxes. Will I be charged a fee or can I just explain to someone that I got no notification about the charge?
@Mgreen1998 We cannot see any of your information and do not know what city you are asking about. You can contact the city and ask them for yourself. TurboTax gets no information as to how, when or even if you pay your tax due.
Yes, you may be charged a penalty for not paying the first one on time, but definitely plead your case, they may waive it for you.
Most tax department employees have the ability to waive or reduce penalties, so it's always a good idea to ask.

That sounds like an estimated tax payment. We don't know if not paying resulted in an underpayment of taxes. if yes, the city can impose penalties and interest. As a general note taxing authorities do not send out notices that estimated tax payments are due because they don't know if they're needed.
