2019 TurboTax - "All Available activations for that code have been used. Error code:603"

  • January 23, 2020

I installed the 2nd PC with the key I purchased. I got this error:
"All Available activations for that code have been used. Error code:603"

Due to TT CA State download bug last week, I tried to install/uninstall TT couple times on the same PC.
Do I lost one new PC installation chance when I reinstall on the same PC???

This is a turbotax scam, when you buy the product there is no indication about the number of time to use the license, turbotax sales went down now they are trying to force users to buy more licenses. have been using turbotax for over 20 years with no problem and l have all software from the 1900, am very disappointed this year with this bad product , intuit reputation sucks now even quickbooks is bad, you can t transfer online quickbooks to desktop, they lock you in to collect the monthly charge, if you decide to go, you lose all your information and start over , this is a shame, they should sued for those scams. I noticed that when you first install turbotax, it works the first time, if you don t finish your return and turn the program off, when you return to continue, it ask you to activate the product , if you go back and forth, on and off on the same device, activating the program, you won t be able to finish your return because you be out of license losing your money and may have to buy another one, WHAT A SCAM of CON ARTIST SMH

This solution doesn't work if you need to install the software on another computer. All my licenses were used by the software performing activation on my machine. Now my family member wants to do their taxes and we are out of the licenses even though we technically did only 2 returns. Did is ridiculous. How do I get another working key so that my family members can do their tax return?

If you receive a error code with a message saying, “All available activations for that code have been used,” that means your code has already been used the maximum number of times, and therefore can’t be used to install the software on another computer. If you feel you have only completed 2 returns, you would want to use the link provided below to contact TurboTax:

@ocruz83129

For assistance with this, you can call TurboTax and speak with an agent.  TurboTax customer service/support does not have a single phone number but has many different phone numbers based on the type of platform used.  So that we can direct your call to the best person/department to help you:

  1. Click on this link: Contact Us
  2. Select your TurboTax platform.
  3. Ask your question / state your problem.  Do NOT use the word "refund' or you will get a phone number for tax refunds.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. On the next screen, choose the Call option and follow the instructions.  You will be given the approximate wait time.

You'll get a toll-free number to a TurboTax expert who is specially-trained to handle your particular issue.

I'm having the same problem (2019 all available activations used).  But the "Contact Us" link you give goes nowhere.  Is there an updated link?

Temporary disconnect the network cable wired/wifi when start the Turbotax. Or on Windows 10 ->Control panel->Network and sharing Center->Change adapter settings-> Right click on the network connection, disable. Restart your turbotax, then re-enable the network connection/wired or wifi network.

BTW, if it comes up with update and asks if you have Internet, just click cancel.

People:

I tried all instructed actions to no avail, (my findings) It seems either turbo tax updates or windows updates have a glitch of some kind.

The actual solution that fixed the problem was to UNINSTALL the program complete and RE INSTALL it, afterwards it doesn't even asks for a code since it was already registered in the computer. Out of three PC's only one gave me the problem.

I hope this help you, have a good tax season. Thanks

So, I called "Support" and waited on hold for 15 minutes only to be hung up on. Apparently, my call is not that important.

I have the same exact problem with Turbo-Tax activation.

Get this message:

"All Available activations for that code have been used. Error code:603"

Initially it would ask me to activate every time I would launch turbo-tax,

finally started to give the 603 error message.

It was originally installed on two computers, due to the repeated error codes I uninstalled from one computer and still getting the 603 error message repeatedly.

Tried the usual "disconnect the network cable wired/WiFi when starting the Turbo-Tax, disable anti-virus/anti-malware/firewall software check, restart modem/router, uninstall and re-install turbo-tax  -- none of that worked.

Total waste of time trying to resolve this, turbo-tax technical support very difficult to get to, no resolution so far, complete and total waste of time. Extremely disappointed with Intuit and Turbo-Tax.

I now wonder if 2020 turbo tax would transfer my 2019 return’s submitted data now.  I had submitted my 2019 return before being kicked out of the turbo tax program but fear having to re construct next years return from scratch.  Any thoughts out there?

The *.tax2019 data file is the same across all platforms.  So I would anticipate that next year's 2020 TurboTax  would be able to transfer the 2019 file into the 2020 product unless the data file itself is corrupt.

If you're using Windows 7, there are some known issues after a recent update.

I also left you some info in your other thread at the link below to see if running a TurboTax "Repair" helps any (if you're using Windows).

I am unable to install the latest TurboTax program to do my taxes. It tells me I have already installed the program 5 times on my devices, which is not true. I have been unable to reach anyone at your company to see if there is anyway to fix this, or if I will have to use another company's program.

I notice from your boards that many customers are having the same problem, but your website does not offer any solution that works.

Pls advise, tax deadline is approaching.

I know this is on the 11 hours to solve this problem. Please see below solution. Plug and unplug your usb drive or flash drive during start up the turbotax 2019, seems to by-pass the activation error.

I also ran into this issue as well when I replaced my computer with a new one. I certainly did not install the software on 5 computers, but I still got the message. I tried repairing the software, uninstalling the software, turning off my antivirus and firewall, etc.. without success. Strangely, I noticed that I only get the activation message when launching TurboTax 2019 after I plug my flash drive with my tax file on it. If I launch TurboTax 2019 without my flash drive connected, I do not get the activation message. I then plug in my flash drive and am able to work on my taxes without issue. I have been able to replicate this numerous times, so I have learned to attach my flash drive AFTER starting TurboTax 2019. I hope this works for/helps someone else.

Thanks for reporting that.   I have seen a couple of other users say they had activation problems while having external drives connected.

I think you got the answer. After unplug and plug in my tax file USB drive, the activation error went away.😃

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try this - ensure that your tax file is in a usb drive and is not connect to your PC. Start up 2019 turbo tax, so it will not see your saved tax file.  Once it passed the start up screen, then plug your usb drive back in. Load your file as normal.
