ok, so I am clear, I am an employee, I have out of pocket expenses that are not reimbursed by my employer, those are no longer deductible in 2018?

So on schedule C yes
Against W2 income NO

Some states may not conform and still allow those deductions, like California, so you should still keep track of them!

That is correct.  Job-related expenses for W-2 employees are eliminated as a deduction on your federal return.  You might want to discuss this with the employer.

If you are a self-employed independent contractor/sole proprietor, Yes.
If you are an employee, No.
