How do I delete schedule 8812 because I don't have any Dependent children
You can't. Just answer that you got zero advance credit.
Because some people will have received the advance credit but claim no dependents (and must pay back the credit or qualify for repayment protection), Turbotax seems to ask everyone. Just answer zero if you got no payments.

There is no Delete Form option in the downloaded app version of the software. What is necessary to stop the program for asking for 8812?

We do not have children nor have claimed any children linked to the Child Care Credit, yet Schedule 8812 always returns after deleted the Tax Form, "Save", "Close" TurboTax downloaded Mac version and reboot computer. Despite that, Schedule 8812 reappears.
Something is not working correctly.

EVERYONE filing a tax return this year will have to visit the CTC section of the program even if they are not claiming any dependents on the 2021 return because the program cannot KNOW who got a CTC advance last year.
This goes for the third stimulus payment as well ... EVERYONE will need to answer those RRC questions.
And with the changes to the EIC more taxpayers will be eligible for it this year ... it is important to visit this credit as well.
Failure to complete any of these sections will result in error messages when you get to the REVIEW tab and you cannot efile with those errors.
So everyone needs to complete all sections of the TT interview and not skip the deductions & credits section this year even if they have in the past.
@LenaH that was where I entered the kids originally but I accidentally put the wrong number and saved it. I couldn't find anywhere to get back to it to change it, only the dollar amount recieved.
I answered no I did not receive advanced payments still won't let me efile.
I have a zero on line 14f schedule 8812 still won't let me efile Kentucky taxes
I did what you said answered all dependent questions with a no. replied the question did I receive advanced payment for child credit as a no. Made sure Schedule 8812 14f had a zero. Still won't let me efile Kentucky taxes. My wife and I have simple returns all income from 1099's no dependents no deductions. I only purchase turbo tax so I can efile. After this year I will do it on my own. I want a refund on my purchase of turbo tax
"Turbo tax continues to ask to enter an amount received as an advance payment on schedule 8812. I do not have any dependent children and have not received any payments. "
Same problem here, bypassed by entering 0.00 in each space, but seems more like a software glitch.

Kentucky is a separate problem.

In the general case, everyone will be asked if they received an advance payment. If you do not encounter the question in the dependent section, it will come up in the error check. I think it should be moved somewhere else so that you will encounter it before you try to finalize your return, but since it works as intended, that suggestion may not get a high priority with the Product Quality team.
Thanks for the reply about Ky errors> I signed up for the updates if they occur. this has been more frustrating than preparing returns manually
Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I've never had any dependents in all the years I've used this software. Suddenly I get a fix the error step and prompted for information for Schedule 8812. I put zero in this but it looks like it adjusted my taxes due amount. I don't want to have my return rejected when I do file. I don't see an option to remove the form in the macOS app as all the items under the Form menu are disabled.
My return indicates no dependents under the Personal Information section... I just figured out how to remove Schedule 8812 in macOS.
Unfortunately removing the schedule doesn't help as I get the same fix errors prompt when I try to complete my return. Ugh!
I got rid of it by filling out the You and Your Family section in Deductions & Credits. Since I have no children, after answering the 5 or 6questions, the review stopped asking about the form and the 8812 disappeared.
