After trying to amend my taxes for the EIC, TurboTax said I do not qualify because of my age apparently (20), but they just recently changed the age from 25 to 19 for the EIC. I used the IRS tool to find out if I qualify, and I do, but TurboTax says otherwise. Can someone please help? I am a member of the military as well.

Check to see if your income is more than the limit.
How Do I Qualify for the Earned Income Credit (EIC):
Double check your date of birth under My Info.
my income is lower than that. I do not know what is wrong
I did, and it is correct.
Were you a dependent in 2021?
I filled as independent for 2021, is that what you are asking? Sorry if I misunderstood the question.
Did you transfer from 2020 when you were a dependent? Better check under My Info and see if the Dependent box is checked. It should ask....Someone else can claim me.
I'm having the same problem and am getting extremely frustrated - even the .gov site says I qualify when I took their quiz. Can I override this? Did you find a solution?
Carefully check the qualifications. If you are eligible, TurboTax will add it to your tax return. Be aware that of the income limits. Unless you are claiming a child, full-time students under 24 are generally not allowed to take it, or anyone under the age of 18, and you can't be a dependent on someone else's tax return.
If you do believe you qualify, go back to the Federal > Deductions & Credits > You and Your Family > Earned Income Credit section of your return. Answer every question in there. If you do not qualify for the credit, TurboTax will show a screen It turns out you don't qualify for this credit along with an explanation of why not.
Unfortunately it was giving me no explanation when I got to that denial screen. I went back through for the 4th time and finally realized I had misread and had one box checked incorrectly - that solved the problem.
Hey, how did u solve ur problem??
I got a letter from the IRS saying I’m eligible for EIC, and I signed and returned the letter in March but still have not receive what they owe me. Should I amend my tax on TT or wait?
@Ak1234 Just wait. It is taking the IRS months to process mailed returns or anything else that was mailed on paper. That envelope has to be opened by a human and a human has to look it over. Allow 6-9 months for them to process it and send the additional refund you get for EIC.
