@Jonclk1988 You are adding to a thread full of posts from multiple users. It is impossible to understand what you are asking about. We cannot tell what payment you are talking about or why you want to "avoid the IRS." Please explain clearly what you are trying to do---from the beginning.
"is it difficult to do "
This is not an available strategy for recovering your prior year refund.
I have a credit in my 2020 account , I filed in June 2021 and asked for a refund
while my state refund came federal did not come as of now
till 2021 Dec it was showing saying being processed in where is my refund tool
from jan 2022 it is not showing but giving error
i pulled account and filing transcript and it is showing credit balance for the refund amount
i tried calling them but it goes in automated loop
can i send them the form to check if they sent the refund and possibly lost in transit?
How fast they respond to such mails?
TAS i will try as lost resort if i am eligible to apply
The Taxpayer Advocate Service can provide assistance with tax issues you can’t solve on your own. This may be a good time to take advantage of the service. Here is the website: https://www.taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/
I have a file "2020Transcript" in IRS that I can log in and see what is there. It shows I have a surplus. I want to transfer this surplus into my taxes for 2022. How do I do this?
Since interacting in the community i got many answers
i called IRS and they came on line and transfered me to acct management
they promised to respond in 4 weeks as to plan of action
the form 3911 for trace is used if you are sure of a refund but you may not get response otherwise
best is to call and they do come on line in 30 minutes
best time to call is 3 pm onwards PST or local
having credit in account does not mean return is processed and refund confirmed..
remember that
Call IRS acct management
option 3 or 5 when you call
