I had Intuit call me yesterday because when I get the messagew that itemizing your deductions is best for, I try to change my deduction and it brings me right back to the message to change my deduction. I have tried loggin off, logging back in. Tried it on my iPad. Tried it on my iPhone. I am using Chrome and I tried Microsoft Edge. The representative I talked to acknowledged it is a known problem, but she did not have a priority for the bug fix or obviously, an ETA on when or if this problem would be resolved. This seems a completely unacceptable response for a common issue. Looking through the posts, this was apparently a problem in 2020 as well, but I just must have been lucky when I chose to do my taxes as it worked for my return for 2020.

After you indicate 'Change My Deduction' TurboTax Online does bring you back to the same screen again; however, your deduction has been changed.
Click Continue at that point.
If you want to verify this, click on TOOLS > Tax Tools in the left panel, then View Tax Summary from the pop-up window.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, click this link for instructions on How to Switch from Standard to Itemized Deductions (or vice versa).
Yes, it goes right back to the screen 📺 indicating I should itemize. I clicked continue until I got to the screen to review taxes and my refund was still the same. Checking in tools still shows standard deduction.
If you are still getting an error, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2021" file that is experiencing this issue.
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

I took a look at your token and noted the following:
Therefore, the greatest benefit for you is the Standard Deduction. I confirmed this was on your 1040, Line 12c.
To confirm, please follow these steps to see your federal forms:

If you are filing as Single and age 65 or older then you receive an additional $1,700 for your Standard Deduction so the $14,250 would be correct.
