Ok so I see I'm not the only one. I have a W2 and self employed along with 3 of the 5 kids I have. Now everything was good until like u said u go to Enterprise your expenses in then it drops. I'm going to try using another tax prep and see if the same thing happens. They want us to pay on our taxes on money we make on the side but we are getting cheated. It's hard enough for us to survive, but I'm a single mother trying to raise 4 teenagers with no help. 1200.00 wouldn't even put shoes on their feet let alone school clothes and food on the table or help us get out the whole we are in. I'll let u know if there are any difference in another tax prep app. I pray it's just turbo tax 🤦🏽♀️

We do not know what "same issue" you are having. There are no other posts in the user forum under your username Motherof05
We can tell you that you are required to include all of your combined income on your tax return, including the W-2 income and self-employment income. When you have self-employment income you pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare. And you have to prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses. You could also owe ordinary income tax for the self-employment income.
You mention that you have teenagers. You lose the child tax credit for any child older than 16; if they are older than 16 by the end of 2024, you get the $500 credit for other dependents instead. That credit is not refundable; it reduces tax you owe.
If you need further help, post back in the forum with some details but no personal information.
SELF EMPLOYMENT INCOME/“side jobs”
If you have self-employment income for which you will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare, you will need to use online Premium software or any version of the desktop software download so that you can prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.
